Although Oldman did not play the actual piano pieces in his portrayal of Ludwig van Beethoven in Immortal Beloved, it is rumored that he practiced five hours a day to mimic the movements of the pieces played.

My three favorite roles of his .... 3) Sirius Black, 2) Beethoven, and 1) Carnegie (Book of Eli). Though I must say I've never seen him in a role I DIDN'T like!

It's a tie between Dracula and JFK (Lee Harvey Oswald). Terrific in both parts!

I was surprised by how much I liked Gary Oldman as Sirius Black, because the only other thing I had ever seen him in was 'Bram Stoker's Dracula.' He might have been great in that, but I would never have noticed because I detested that movie so much. I was particularly repelled by the scene in which the werewolf rapes the young woman, and I was upset that they made the werewolf that Lupin turns into in 'Prisoner of Azkaban' look very similar.

I loved him in "The Scarlet Letter" (1995) and was pleasantly surprised to see that he voiced Bob Cratchit, Jacob Marley, and Tiny Tim in Disney's "A Christmas Carol" (2009).
I agree. My favorite role of his besides in the Harry Potter movies is his role in the Scarlet Letter. He was so sexy in that film. I also kind of liked him in Red Riding Hood.

Oldman was brilliant as doomed playwright Joe Orton in "***** Up Your Ears", with a great performance by Alfred Molina as well.

Jack in Stae of Grace was his best role ever, How he didn't win an Oscar for it is absurd,
We raise our glasses to the screen souses we can't forget, even after a few shots.
