Every woman wants him and every man wants to be him! George Clooney returns to the big screen in The American, playing an assassin hiding out in the Italian countryside while waiting for his next assignment. But Clooney started his movie career in some lesser known works...

I really enjoyed "Leatherheads"...don't know why anyone wouldn't. All the "Ocean's" movies were great. The Perfect Storm cast him perfectly. Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? Showed Clooney's true penchant for comedy. His timing, voice inflections, and slapstick humor make this one of his most memorable performances. In "Three Kings" Clooney was believable as his character in this unbievable movie about bad guy soldiers turned humanitarians. "Out of Sight" was truely "Under-appreciated" and both Clooney and Lopez were a joy to watch. Clooney and Kidman were a great team in "The Peacemaker". It truely was a "thriller". "Batman and Robin" may have flopped, but it had nothing to do with the believability of Clooney as the Batman. DB4

The American, Likable, if you understand what kind of movie it is... do not expect a shoot em up - action movie. There is action, yes - more of a Film noir - dare I say ( I dare , I dare)! Probably, I will see it twice, yes I think so... -MikeD

We went to see "The American". The theater was only half full, and people began to leave after the first fifteen minutes. It was so s-l-o-w! The writing was choppy and there were only a few actors who actually spoke. The scenery was breath taking, but the movie was a dud. All we heard as we left the theater was Horrible! Terrible! How could Clooney be in this movie? Why was this movie made? Why protray an American that way?....

George, George, what were you thinking!!!! The American is probably the worst movie I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of movies. I had the feeling this was going to be a long, boring movie, when it took Clooney 10 minutes, at least that is what if felt like, to drive through a tunnel and it only got worst after that. If you are in need of a nap, and want to pay to sleep sitting up, then go see this one. But, if you want to see a action paced film, DON'T go to see The American. What a disappointment.

Michael Clayton and Up in the Air are two of my all-time favorite movies.
