In the horror film The Collection, a sequel to 2009's The Collector, Josh Stewart returns as Arkin—a thief who escapes his first encounter with the sadistic Collector only to face him again with a group of mercenaries. The Collection amps up the action—and the body count—by taking place at a rave from hell. What other sequels stepped up the intensity, gore, violence or whatever key element from the originals?
The human centipede? Really? Anything could be better than that crap, except a sequel on the same crap. Get a life.
Couple of comments and observations. First - to sonicking ... the only thing I can think of as to why ESB isn't on this list is that it doesn't really "step it up." While the story is better - the level of the action isn't really "stepped up".
Next - while most people would agree that Godfather II is superior to the original, its NOT the only film on this list that is. I don't think anyone would argue that Wrath of Kahn was better than Star Trek TMP.
I would also argue that TRON Legacy is superior to TRON. For the life of me I can't imagine why Legacy didn't even get NOMINATED for ANY Academy Awards (visual effects, sound, special effects, art design, etc)???!!!
I think that the Empire Strikes back needs to be on this list; not only did it feature more sci-fi action, creatures & locations than Star Wars: A New Hope, but also a deeper and richer story than the first film, including waht was one of the most shocking & unexpected (at that time) plot twists ever (hint: Darth Vader DIDN't kill Luke's fater.)
You think you know them...but do you really?
