Colin Farrell takes on the role once played by Chris Sarandon of a vampire who moves in next door to a teenager who figures out his real identity. Long before the Twilight kids came along, this original 1985 comedy/horror movie had 'em screaming and laughing at the cineplex.
If there are any left, which '80s movies would you like to see remade? Leave a comment below and let us know!
ENEMY MINE! ABSOLUTELY! AND MAYBE KRULL!
STARMAN, THE QUIET EARTH, THE LAST STARFIGHTER, AND SOMEONE SHOULD DO 2061: ODESSEY III AND 3001: THE FINAL ODYSSEY................
oh...and GOONIES, GOONIES, GOONIES!!!!
"Attack of The Killer Tomatoes" in 3-D, The Last Starfighter, and Cocoon. Also do live action version of X-men Vs. The Teen Titans!!!
A sequel or spin-off from the Mad Max series would be elite. Dont know if anyone remembers Enemy Mine, great 80s sci-fi, imagine what CGI could do to it. I Hear Ghostbusters remake is being negotiated, Bill Murray thinks he's either too successful or too eccentric for the role nowadays. Who would make a good robocop nowadays???
I agree with Gary, The first movie anyone should think of is " THE LAST STARFIGHTER ". Though CHUBBY is right, no remake but a KICKASS sequal. If we're considering T.V. shows, why not "THE SIX MILLION DOLLOR MAN"?
Some of the movies listed should never be touched: 1) Child's Play: You saw what they did with the sequals. 2) Back to the Future trilogy; Just don't !!, 3) Breakfast Club: There's no one out there that really matters or matches up to the brat pack. 4) Die Hard: Really! again look at the sequals. 6) The Last Starfighter can be done only if they do a kick action sequal out of it, leave the original alone. Everything else I could careless about.
I agree. THANK YOU! How can anyone think they should re-make Back to the Future? That would just be wrong. as for Die Hard. they are thinking about making another chapter in the saga. How could Die Hard possibly be remade if they are still making current movies? LOL.
Yes, Die Hard. I feel that the next one should be less comedic, more dramatic and should include someone like Ben Foster as the guy he "passes the torch" to....and, by the way, I liked all of the sequels--even the one with Samuel L. Jackson! :-)
The LAST STARFIGHTER..... come on all..... this is THE ONE.... it was left as a cliff hanger, need to finish telling the story of the boy from the trailer park that became the LAST STARFIGHTER !
1) D.C. Cab 2) Commando 3)Adventures in Baby Sitting 4)Quantum Leap! 5) Poltergeist 6) MacGyver 7)Fall Guy 8)Magnum PI 9)RoboCop
Im not sure if Quantum Leap was ever a movie, but i agree. If it gets done right it could be pretty good.
1-Terminator re-boot, 2-Die-Hard, 3-Poltergeist, 4-Back To The Future, 5- A Soldier's Story, 6-Ghostbusters, 7-Breakfast Club, 8-Road Warrior, 9-RoboCop.
Plans for ghostbusters and robocop are being made. no official release dates yet though.
1) Poltergeist. 2) Child's Play. 3) Communion. 4) Back to the Future. 5) RoboCop.
@Firebot: Very interesting list. 1) The Magnificent Seven has already been done this year with a sequel coming, it was The Expendables (hehehe). 2) Since you said " NEVER touch Forbidden Planet" that will be done by the summer of 2012. 3) Would love to see "Killer Clowns" but I'm sure they want o do it in 3D. 4) Johnny Quest would be cool if Robert Rodriguez does it. 5) Critters, Hmmmmmm another 3D horror by the people that brought you Pirahna 3D. 6) Leave the Jetsons alone, they'll just screw it up like they did Yogi Bear.
Greetings! I would like to see the following become movies; made via live actors, or CGI: Remember the old, campy t.v. show called "UFO" (it might be okay if given a sharper edge)?, How about "The Jetsons", or "The Avengers" (update Emma Peel & Steed)? "The Magnificent Seven", "Critters", "Killer Clowns from Outer Space", "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea"? "Scanners" might be pretty cool, as would "Jonny (Johnny?) Quest, with a James Bond/Indiana Jones feel to it (remember Dr. Benton Quest, Race, Hadji, and Bandit got into some neat stuff). A Superman meets Batman team-up; w/the last guy to play Superman, Roth(?) and Christian Bale, as the heroes. Maybe, "This Island Earth", could stand a redo, but NEVER touch "Forbidden Planet" (classic).
Take a look at some new and familiar faces in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings prequel.
A look inside the geography of Middle-earth where Bilbo and the Dwarves will travel.
