21 Jump Street arrives in theaters this week, and unlike many of the big-screen adaptations of television series we've seen lately, early word on this one indicates that it's actually, well... good. Hopefully it's a sign that the dark days of bad movies based on classic TV shows are behind us. With that in mind, here are 21 more TV shows -- both old and new -- that could make great movies.

Another X-Files movie, this time centering on the alien invasion. Nowhere Man Boomtown Tru Calling Supernatural Haunted Fastlane Knight Rider He-Man and She-Ra (but this time much more faithful to the cartoon shows in the 80's!!)

80's TV shows seem to translate the best to the big screen so here are a few that would be great movies: Airwolf- seriously, why has this not been done yet? Knight RIder- cool cars and going fast and furious is all the rage, and the new TV show was horrid, so let the big screen try it. Requires David Hasselhoff playing Devon Miles though..:-P Streethawk- similar concept as Knight Rider, but with a bad a$$ motorcycle instead. Cult following of the one season the show was on. Sledge Hammer- "Trust me. I know what I'm doing." Seriously. ChiPS- Eric Estrada FTW...okay, not really. Automan- shortlived show about a computer program that had a human body, had a car that made 90 degree turns at intersections, and a sidekick named Cursor.

Yes I want to see an Angel movie! It could show what happened during the big battle at the end of the series. That was a lame way to end it by the way. Build up to a huge apocalypse battle and then go off the air. I would love to see a live action He-Man or She-Ra movie. Better then the one that came out in the 80s that is. Other then that another Firefly movie, or a Moonlight movie would be awesome too.

Alias Smith and Jones. Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller would be much better cast in this Western Comedy than they were in Starsky & Hutch.

I'm goin' with Futurama or South Park! Who wouldn't wanna see all those crazy characters on Futurama played by actual people! I think the special effects would be wicked~and the movie would definitely have to be just as Cheesy as the series....DEFINITELY would love to see South Park brought to the big screen with actual actors and actresses, yeah they'ld have to be kids, but...maybe "little" people could play the roles! I think I'ld like see the episode "Crippled Summer"....HOWEVER...ANY South Park episode would be Great! Actually could combine several episodes to create an outrageously funny feature film!! :)

There is no doubt the best idea is a SOA movie... Jax could kill Clay on the big screen and just the layout could take 2 hours... GREAT chance for a trilogy!

Many of the shows identified could be good movies, but as with any film, it will be the quality of the screenplay that helps it succeed. For me, I have been waiting for The Man From UNCLE to finally get from rumor to reality. It has been more than three years now since it was first rumored an UNCLE film was given a "green" sign. I only wish they do it right and avoid destroying our memories (ala Green Hornet).

I hope they do a Quantum Leap movie, for no other reason but to undo the incredibly crappy ending executive meddling forced on the series. There's really no explaining just how awful and just plain mean it was. Also agree with you on the ST: DS9 film, but not Robotech, as it is a Macekred version of another series.

Lost in Space!!! Can the next re-make have more of what Year One of the series. Monsters, cool gadgets a bad guy stowaway, and living on a cool spaceship. The character development in the Gary Oldman version was not enough for true fans of the 60's classic.
