20 Board Games That Should Be Movies

By Rick Marshall

Battleship launches into theaters May 18, bringing the popular board game to the big screen in explosive fashion. And while the film isn't the first movie to be spun out of a board game, it does appear to be the herald of a long string of upcoming films – including Candyland, Risk and Monopoly, to name just a few. With that in mind, here are 20 more board games that deserve their own movies, and how we envision them taking form on the screen.

and about some of these board games, i probley expect them to be more of a gameshow for GSN, then the big screen, like scrabble or connect four.

for chutes & Ladders, Adam Sandler could star, cause i think sandler's a fan of chutes & ladders, cause there was a chutes & Ladder refrence in his christmas song & in grown ups featured chutes & Ladders.

I dunno, about Monopoly, sure it'd make a great movie, but a movie about a Monopoly, hmmmm... Hasn't this already been done? lOlz... Oh, right, we want the Monopoly guy to trademark the film, well in that case, better start all over on production, then... Sure i'd make a great movie, but I think we already have too many movies like that already, & I don't see how it would be as fun to watch as it was to play the Board Game... What kid would want to watch a movie about a Monopoly, aka a movie about how Banks, Rents, Bills, & Morgage Rates, & jail time all work, kids would be so bored with the movie, no?
