'Zero Dark Thirty' Poster Teases 'Greatest Manhunt in History'

At the moment, as the last quarter of 2012 takes shape, Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty remains almost as mysterious as the mission it centers its story around.

We know that the war-thriller is based on our military’s covert mission to assassinate Osama Bin Laden. And we know that, behind the scenes, the film reteams Bigelow with her Hurt Locker screenwriter Mark Boal, giving most of us hope that Zero will be another major player in the ongoing Oscar race.

Beyond that, details are scarce. Joel Edgerton, Jessica Chastain, Edgar Ramirez, Mark Strong, Kyle Chandler and Nash Edgerton co-star in Zero, which gave us the following trailer a few weeks back.

Since then, it has been radio silence as Columbia Pictures prepares for the film’s Dec. 19 release date. Today we have a poster, but it, too, keeps specifics to a minimum. The mystery continues to pull us in. We’re very excited for Bigelow’s first feature post-Hurt Locker. And, of course, this story has global interest. What do you think of Zero Dark Thirty so far? Is it a film you are planning to see in December?
