You Rate the Box Office Winner: 'The Roommate'

As expected, the Super Bowl slowed things down at the box office slightly, with this week’s winner, The Roommate, taking in only $15.6 million. So congrats to both myself and Fandango readers for correctly predicting this week’s box office winner!

'The Roommate'The week’s other new release, Sanctum, came in second with $9.2 million, while No Strings Attached ($8.4 million), The King’s Speech ($8.3 million) and The Green Hornet ($6.1 million) rounded out the top five.
 
But was The Roommate – which stars Minka Kelly as a girl who’s stalked by her new weird roommate (Leighton Meester) -- worthy of its first place finish? Over at Rotten Tomatoes, critics didn’t like The Roommate at all, torturing the stalker-ish flick with a nasty 8% Rotten score. Meanwhile, moviegoers tell a different story, giving the film a respectable 51% Fresh score.

    yeah, I thought it sucked...not all time worst, but pretty bad. I thought the rite was pretty good though.
