Here's a good question: Would you pay upwards of, say, $12 to see Will Ferrell in a Spanish-language movie, complete with subtitles and all? Personally, I'm not one who's bothered by subtitles, but I know a lot of people who don't buy into the whole words on the bottom of the screen thing, and that's cool. To each their own. But what if it's Will Ferrell blurtin' out the foreign stuff?
We'll report more as it comes in, but for the time being let us know whether you would go see Will Ferrell in a comedy that was subtitled...
I speak spanish, so i'd love it. I think it'd be hilarious and speaking in another language would give will ferrell a chance to get away from his typical role, while still being funny.
I don't like subtitles, I would honestly prefer to see a bad chinese old school martial arts film style voice over than have to pay attention to subtitles, it takes away from the movie and becomes the primary focus.
I'm laughing already! Yo quiero Will Ferrell! I know some people don't get it but oh well there loss.. my mom says: "El Will Ferrell me causa mucha risa! Y casi me hago pipi"... yupp she like-a dat Gringo! I will defenately pay to see it, but maybe go to mexicali to pay less and no subtitles! Lol
Will Ferrell is funny in almost every movie his been in, so it will either be really good or epically fail. Dependent on what other people say, if it is the slightest bit funny, i would go see it.
I don't like movies with subtitles very well. I'm showing my ignorance here, but subtitles distract me. I'm not real fond of Will Ferrell either, so this movie will probably not make my list of must-sees.
An american movie made in spanish. Hmm I think most of this humor will be lost in translation, but maybe not I mean idiot humor is universal so...
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
