As with every Marvel project up until now, studio head Kevin Feige has put together a short list of actors to play the lead in the studios' next major project, Guardians of the Galaxy.
A little over a month ago, the studio confirmed that James Gunn would be directing the project and since then, the search has been on for who will play the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Quill.
Quill's character, in a nutshell, is the offspring of a human mother and an alien father. He leads a group of alien superheroes who team to protect the solar system from an evil race. In the comics, the Guardians worked with the Avengers, which will most likely pave the way for a massive blockbuster when Avengers 2 hits theaters in 2015.
The actors currently under consideration are (in order of images below) Joel Edgerton, who seems to appear on a lot of Marvel short lists; Lee Pace (The Hobbit, Lincoln), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire), Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas) and Eddie Redmayne from Les Miserables.
Deadline also reports that Garrett Hedlund, James Marsden and Sullivan Stapleton have also drawn interest from Marvel.
While Marvel weighs their choices, we'll turn it over to you. Who do you like for the role of Peter Quill?
Edgerton, Sturgess and Pace all have experience helming blockbuster tentpole films. Huston and Redmayne would be interesting choices while Hedlund headlined Disney's Tron: Legacy and Marsden anchored Fox's X-Men trilogy as Cyclops.
Guardians of the Galaxy is due in theaters August 1, 2014.

Comics and action figures over the years have made the superheroes very muscular. I wonder if this image will affect the pick or will affect the fan's view of the character.
Actor Lee Pace...'he has a strong hypnotic look about him. Very strong handsome features!! I hope he be chosen to play the lead Role/Peter Quill in MARVEL "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie.
I like Marsden or Pace
I'll go for Hedlund I liked trim legacy but it did not live up to its 1982 precededer
You mean Tron Legacy
Guess your a sucker for bad grammar
Anyhow as I was saying tron legacy was good but not as the 1982 original
I know that, but Tron Legacy was a much cooler movie in my opinion
I guess maybe you can say that since the technology was more in the now and fit with today's edge
Yeah, but Tron 1 had good effects for its time
Tron 1 was better because it was more upbeat
It also had more suspense
Tron 2 had more action anyway does Hedund seem like a good choice
Yup a very inspiring quote from one of the semi great movies of 2011
Just like mine is "Guess we're both suckers"
What do you mean just like mine
I meant just like how I have a quote from a movie
Now answer my question
I said that's exactly what I was thinking of
He has the good looks
I also like your new headline, I see its a reference to Hugo
By the way my iPhone does the bad grammer thing all the time
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
