The other day I asked you to throw down your favorite film from 2009 in the comments section, and as of this writing just about 40 of you have participated. While you continue naming your favorites of the year, it’s now time to let us know which films you didn’t like. Which films did you walk out on, and which films do you wish you could get a refund for?
There were some real stinky flicks this year, too, like I Love You, Beth Cooper, All About Steve, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Dance Flick and, yes, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. But maybe those weren’t the most appalling and, instead, you want to rant against Avatar, New Moon or Where the Wild Things Are. Hey, we just want to know which film you liked the least in 2009 and why.
NEW MOON SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just saw it and didnt get out cuz I didnt wanna leave my girlfriend alone
K, if you were bugging on Transformers, or Bloody Valentine, or Crank 2.... Did you really expect to gain a meaningful cinematic experience from any of those movies? Yes, they are bad movies, but that should go without justification. What is the point in comparing craps to turds?
Find some quality movies - discuss those - stop supporting lousy film industries that are snuffing out the meaningful side of film.
My least favorite and worst movies of the year for me was My bloody valentine, land of the lost was enetering but didn't make an sense, I didn't really like fast and furious I thought it was going to be more fast and furious, all about steve it wasn't bad but it is one of my least favorite movies of the year, Dragonball evolution was disapointing. Those were my 5 least favorite movies of the year. All yah how could I forget one of the most worst movie I saw this year I didn't like was The goods live hard sell hard denfinty.
Da REAL Pancho Villa
I gotta say that the worst movie was Paranormal Activity, I fussed about it the whole time when I was watching it.
I disagree with Transformers, stop hating so much on the movie sheesh. It was a fun action movie, whoever saw the first knew not to expect citizen kane. to AubraeAnatomy I agree with your choices except for lautner he was also a terrible actor, but overall the movie was bad, sparkly vampire who stare at the ground for no apparent reason do not equal a good movie. Id say Knowing was the worst film this year followed by the proposal and gi joe.
Last week I saw "The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day". It was all over the place, jumping from idea to idea. the movie reminded me of when im really tired and thoughts keep passing through my head and eventually I fall asleep...But the worst movie of 2009 would have to be "Crank 2: High Voltage"!!! That movie is just to CRAZY!!! I have never done crack but i can imagine that watching the movie is like smocking crack! lol
i love boondock saints 2... i guess its my love for the 1st movie flowing through. as for crank 2... i thought it was very entertaining.. and i think the whole point is for you to feel like your on something.
Bruno and Transformers 2 were awful. Bruno was just way too much, and Transformers was annoying and I couldn't get into it.
Transformers. Horrible. When an action flick is that boring someone messed up. It took over 30 minutes for the heroes to run across the field in the climax. Thats just bad filmmaking. Oh GI Joe runs a close second because of things that made no sense.
Avatar was phenomenal and I have to defend New Moon. New Moon was made for the fans and Weitz did a fantastic job bringing the novel to life.
Wow... do I ever disagree on the fact it was made for the fans... I'm a huge fan of the books, but the movie adaptation was just terrible - worse than Twilight for me. The acting by Robert and Kristen was so bad I had to keep from laughing out loud in the theater at inopportune times... horrifying.
i have to say that me an my hubby dont get to go to the movies alone often so when we went to watch couples resort i was really mad that we wasted are time an money!!!
The only movie from the list that I actually saw Was Paul Blart: MC. It wasn't a great movie but I thought it was good for a few laughs.
The worst movie that I saw in 2009 had to be "The 4th Kind" I laughed more during that movie than I did during PB:MC.
As for best movies: I liked Star Trek and Sherlock Holmes.
As for comedies I liked Year 1 but that may have neen last year, not sure.
All About Steve was very dissappointing and gets my vote for worst movie of the year. Also could not watch Paul Blart Mall Cop, had to leave in the middle.
All About Steve was very dissappointing and gets my vote for worst movie of the year.
I loved Taken and Avatar. I loved Wolverine. I'm trying to think of movies that I've hated but I can't think of any. :( I really enjoyed Twilight and New Moon - but the acting really is not very good. I'm just a big vampire flick fan. Of course neither one of them was as good as the TV show 'Moonlight" Now there was a sexy vampire show with great acting and story lines. But, I digress.....still can't think of any movies I truly didn't like - but if I do I'll get back with you. (Of course, I didn't see any of the movies in the worst list because I thought they wouldn't be worth my time to watch!0 :D
planet 51 was HORRIBLE
i loved Disney's the Christmas Carol
Star Trek without a doubt the worst of the year, the decade and maybe of all time. It wasn't even bad enough to laugh at. The ST franchise has become like America: fat, lazy, complacent and stupid. They think they can just mail it in and people will show up. Maybe they're right.
First, what is with the America bashing in all of these comments. This is supposed to be about bad movies from 2009, not you personal stereotyping of an entire country. Save your hate for the movies.
Secondly, You seem to be one of the only people on the planet who hated Star Trek. It received a overall rating of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and 83% on Metacritic. Now I;m not trying to say that it was a top movie of the year or that it should be bagging a bunch of awards, but I thought (and apparently a large percentage of the rest of the world agreed) that Star Trek was a pretty good movie.
Worst movies of '09 - Paul Blart and Observe & Report. Why I watched two different movies about mall cops is rather dumbfounding.
By far, the worst movie we saw this year was "The Invention of Lying". I was disgusted by the mockery of Christianity in this film, using pizza boxes to write out the 10 commandment like "rules" and saying how heaven was just a lie someone made up to keep people from being scared of death. So sad. The opening scene too was very crude, talking about masturbation prior to a first date. I feel sorry for these actors and the writer of this film who have no knowledge of the truth of the Bible.
I'm in agreement with you about movies that make a mockery of Christianity. I don't want to see any of them.
BATTLE FOR TERRA is the WORST I saw.
oh yeah you wanted to know why.... well - in short - the movie was the worst anti-human movie that could possibly have been made - showing the human race (what was left of it) to be cold, heartless, and self-serving. Kind of rude to make that blanket assumption of all humanity.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
