The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey got off to a good start with last night's midnight screenings, taking in just under $13 million. While box office projection continue to have the film on pace to finish with a weekend total around the $120 million mark, today we get another video blog from Jackson.
The latest behind the scenes video blog takes us through the days leading up to the big world premiere in New Zealand. There's plenty of cameos by all your favorite Hobbit cast members in this one, including Andy Serkis, Elijah Wood, Martin Freeman and a special appearance by Ian McKellan.
The video also takes us behind the scenes on the construction of the massive Gollum attraction that was hung in the New Zealand airport, press conferences and an attempt at a new world record for the longest red carpet in premiere history.
If you think this is the end of Jackson's video blogs, think again. The director promises a new installment in the new year, highlighting a behind the scenes look at the second Hobbit movie, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
