Last night’s Twilight press screening at The Grove in L.A. included a lot of long lines, squealing, cheers and screaming—all of which I expected. I did not expect to see a lot of males in the theater, but there were more grown men than I anticipated. Dads escorting tweens, I guessed. One sported a Twilight Tee.
The crowd squealed excitedly when the lights dimmed. Cheers and claps erupted when the title showed. High-pitched screams accompanied the first glimpses of the Cullens and Jacob. Nervous giggles bubbled up during Bella and Edward’s first interactions, romantic one-liners produced “aaw”s, and vampire tree-hopping earned more squeals. Robert Pattinson ranked No. 1 on the scream-o-meter. I did not scream. I sat beside my co-workers, who would probably judge me if I did.
The Verdict: If you see Twilight this weekend, you’re going to have a lot of fun. Even if you’re not Cullen-crazy, being surrounded with Twilighters exuding giddiness is an experience in itself. Hundreds of showtimes have already sold out for Thursday’s midnight shows. High schoolers will be sleep-deprived on Friday! If you think you’re too old for this, you can take consolation in knowing moms and dads will accompany their young ones.

I loved the movie, but I don't feel the same about the "even if you’re not Cullen-crazy, being surrounded with Twilighters exuding giddiness is an experience in itself". I found the "aww"s to be utterly obnoxious and cannot beleive the staff allowed such a thing. It ruined the movie for me because every other line was blocked out by "OOOOOooooOO".
I will seeing it again on a Sunday morning at 8am to try to enjoy it this time.
I need to say that i was one of those screaming girls on tursday and boy it was so worth it!!! I just say it again and loved it even more! ( i know the effects where a little... low budget (lets put it that way) but i still loved it!!!
Rob has MASTERED Edward Cullen in the eyes! The intensity of his love & desire for Bella is evident in his hypnotic fix as they are locked into each others gaze. SIMPLY BRILLIANT!
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
