Are you afraid of the dark? If so, then this might not be the trailer for you to watch. The title reads Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, but that's pretty ridiculous since this film looks to give you plenty of reasons to fear the dark … and fear sliding your feet under a nice set of clean sheets. Produced by Guillermo del Toro and directed by Troy Nixey, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is technically a remake of an early '70s flick, but something tells me they've updated it beyond the familiar premise.
Katie Holmes, Guillermo del Toro, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
Del Toro is a genius of a director. He has a creepier and more detailed mind than Tim Burton and I think Tim Burton wishes he could be Del Toro. I'm sure this movie will creep me out and even though I'm a psychological horror fan myself I'm alaways up for a good pop-out scary flick which this sure does seem like it will be just that.
As long as Mr. Del Toro keeps making films I will keep seeing them.
Just hope that the little girl in the movie don't get any trouble going to sleep after makeing this "frightening" Horror flick "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark"...'it looks pretty creepy and suspenseful, I think Mr. del Toro has a chilly Classic Thriller coming our way January 2011. All the best!
Looks scary enough to pass a thriller, but me, the classic scardey-cat, I wasn't even that impressed. Oh well. xD
Guillermo del Toro is a genius, however I think jump tactics are the cheapest type of horror there is so I really don't know what to say about this movie. I think it will have great atmosphere because of del toro which I think is what makes a horror good, however based on the trailer it looks like it has to many jump scares, which will ultimately ruin this movie. I hope I'm wrong and that the director balanced jump scare tactics and atmosphere perfectly giving us a good horror flick next january.
agreed, startled isn't the same as being scared. I love the creep factor. If it doesn't gimme goosebumps and have me wide-eyed, it probably isn't a scary movie. Too many movies are put in the horror stack when really they're suspense thriller/drama. Let's hope DelToro truly put his mark on this project.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
