Happy New Year Fandango Fans! In the coming days and weeks we'll be discussing the upcoming year in movies at great length (including a post later this week asking for your most anticipated 2011 titles), but in the meantime we'd like to know which film you decided to watch first in the New Year.
I saw True Grit. Hailee Steinfeld as Mattie Ross was amazing!
I did a double feature of Black Swan and True Grit today. If this portends the rest of 2011, it should be an amazing year for film.
I watched "the social Network" and got me inspired to steal ideas!!!!!!! Happy New you!!!
i watched inception and the other guys since the beginning of 2011
"I've Loved You So Much" starring Kristin Scott Thomas & Elsa Zylberstein in this French award winning film 2008. Great and intense movie.
Saw the fighter with my boyfriend :-)
TRON LEGACY FOR THE 5TH TIME :) WOOT!
Awesome!! My first was TRON for the fifth time too! Except my fifth time was in IMAX. If you haven't seen it there, then you should def try it. There were several scenes that were shot with an IMAX camera. Simply amazing.
Hot Tub Time Machine on DVR. So worth the recording ...
I have yet to watch a whole movie. I saw some of a few Marx Brothers films but nothing full yet. It might be Matchstick men.
The first film i saw was the original true grit with John Wayne. The remake with Jeff bridges and matt damon is way better. i found Kim Darby's Mattie Ross was too annoying, which ruined the film for me and Hailee Steinfeld 's Mattie Ross is way more bad-a** . I think the role Mattie Ross makes or breaks both True Grit Adaptions not Rooster Cogburn. I think the fact John Wayne won his only oscar for Playing Rooster Cogburn makes the character way overrated and more important and it's not as important as Mattie Ross. Take that John Wayne
I had tivo'd two movies and ended up watching both of them on New Years Day: Nine and Tooth Fairy. Heard so many bad things about Nine that I was expecting to hate it. I actually enjoyed it. Not a great movie, but I enjoyed it. Almost killed myself during the first 15 minutes of Tooth Fairy. Thought it was a TERRIBLE movie, but it got better and I ended up enjoying it. You will find neither in my dvd collection or on my Ipod, even if they were free.
The King's Speech. SO fine!
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
