Argo and Sinister got off to relatively good starts over the weekend. But neither had the power to unseat Liam Neeson and Taken 2 from the top slot in the Box Office Top 10.
Now that Taken 2 has opened to an estimated $50 million, we can all-but guarantee that Taken 3 will happen. But will Liam Neeson stay with the franchise? Will Maggie Grace take over? Weigh in with your thoughts.
You can go ahead and greenlight Taken 3. Why? Because Taken 2 opened to a massive $50M, doubling the opening number posted by the original Taken back in 2009.

After a series of trailers that more or less offered up the same footage, we get our first batch of photos from Taken 2 showcasing how handy and menacing Nesson is with a handgun, Maggie Grace running around and Famke Janssen appearing long enough to remind you she's a part of the film.
It was only Monday that we got the second trailer for Taken 2, the sequel to the Liam Neeson daughter-rescuing, bad guy killing hit from 2008. While that trailer continued to focus on Neeson's heroics, this new trailer dives into the villain's story. Though it starts off the same as the domestic versions, there's plenty of new footage as the trailer progresses.
A couple months have passed since our first look at Taken 2. and now Yahoo has premiered a new trailer which showcases more of the drama behind the story. Don't worry though, there's plenty of Liam Neeson badass-ery going on in the final montage.
This might end up being one of those things that sounded great on paper, but might ultimately fall flat. Of course, we're assuming a lot off of one trailer, but the first look at Taken 2 finds Liam Neeson having to display his special set of skills once again, with the help of his daughter.
Jon Hamm has signed on to an untitled comedy being directed by Greg Mottola of Superbad fame and co-starring Curb Your Enthusiasm's Larry David. Also, Rob Zombie moves away from horror to direct a hockey movie, a quad poster for Taken 2, Game of Thrones and True Blood come to SDCC, Moonrise Kingdom cast watches Moonrise Kingdom and more!
San Diego Comic-Con is less than a month away and we're starting to get a better idea of which studios are attending (and with which films) and which ones are skipping the annual comic book convention. Disney, Sony, Warner Bros. and Summit's Breaking Dawn are all locked in, while Fox, Paramount and DreamWorks will sit out this year.
The first pics of Liam Neeson displaying his special set of skills (again) in Taken 2, have arrived. Also, might Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe be voicing Guillermo Del Toro's stop-action animated Pinocchio? Plus Avenger Cats, Sin City sequel's first poster and Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield sing a song about Spider-Man.
