Our good buddies Twitch Film are reporting that Warner Bros. has offered Twilight star Kristen Stewart the female lead in their long-brewing live action remake of seminal Japanese anime Akira. Of course, this doesn't mean that Stewart has accepted but we'll throw it to you to see if you like this casting decision.
Gary Oldman has reportedly been offered the role of Colonel Shikishima in Warner Bros.' live-action Akira remake. Helena Bonham Carter has also been offered the role of Priestess Miyako while Eric Bana is confirmed to play Elvis Presley in Cary Elwes' directorial debut Elvis and Nixon. Among the notable entries are George Clooney’s The Ides of March, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy starring Gary Oldman, David Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method and Roman Polanski’s Carnage.
