Usually this is the spot where I’d ask you to rate the box office winner, which, in this case, would be The Expendables. In a weekend packed full of fun box office battles, Sly Stallone and the rest of his aging action stars managed to pull in the most amount of money, blasting through theaters with $35 million over the three days. Julia Roberts proved she still has what it takes...
This is it! This is the weekend we’ve all been waiting for! (Okay, maybe not all of us. Some of us. Can I say some of us?) As I said earlier in the week, this particular weekend is one so packed with material for everyone that the three movies opening are going to literally battle one another to the death, with the winner just barely making it out alive.
I know I’ve talked about big weekends at the summer box office before, but this upcoming weekend is definitely one of the biggest of 2010. Not so much because the films are these giant epic blockbusters or anything, but moreso because we have three films all doing battle for a similar audience.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
