Though you may not think so, according to those number-crunching freaks over at Forbes, Seth Rogen is the hardest working actor in Hollywood right now. You're probably wondering how Forbes actually comes up with this particular list, and I will tell you that they put it together by taking a look at actors (and actresses) who have scored top-billing in the most amount of "decently performing movies" over the course of the past five years. When I say "decently performing", I mean movies that earned more than $20 million at the box office. So, basically, you're looking for actors who had starring roles in the really popular films.
Robert Downey Jr., Seth Rogen, Matt Damon, Will Ferrell
so why the ^^^^ would he be on the list? are you stupid?!
Kevin Smith should be on that list, although the only thing he's done within the past 5 years is Cop Out and Clerks 2.
marykate at the movies x3
haha i love seth rogen! he's so funny. i've liked every movie he's in! =)
Its based on the hardest workers in Hollywood, not the best ten actors in Hollywood. This list isn't saying anything about there talent. No reason to pick it apart and even discuss it. There's plenty awards based on talent alone. It's just a very simple list, who has been in the most movies that make 20 million or higher. So does he deserve this recognition. Um... duh. Why? Because he has been in the most movies with 20+. Which is a pretty amazing feat. Congrats Seth. Its not even debatable. Forbes is a finance magazin! Come on now.... This whole discussion doesn't make much sense to me.
Looks = Superficial
Money = Superficial
Acting Ability = Secondary Concern
Story = Tertiary Concern
Writing = Very Seldom endeavored with any serious interest in original content or dialog.
"Hardest working" should mean: "effort" and in all areas where the worker can influence the results. Not where marketing, or sales, or ticket sales, has influence. Those areas of interest have specifically separate measures already, not every stat can be based off of the same data, it is ridiculous.
i personally have no problem with seth's acting, but when he's cast in every single movie, for example having 5 movies or more in one year, it goes to show how hollywood is afraid to give all the new talent thats waiting to be seen a chance. Instead they play it safe and choose someone that's been there another, if not same, role again and again. P.S. Hollywood - There are other actors out there waiting for a shot.
I'm surprised how many people spelled his name wrong when it is right there in the article. I wouldn't go as far as saying Rogen is a genius. His brand of humor and style of acting just happens to be popular right now. When the glimmer of this niche of comedy begins to fade (you can only tell the same stoner/fart/sexist joke so many times before it gets boring) and he has to look for roles outside of his comfort zone we'll see how well he does. In truth that could be years from now.
I'm surprised it was Seth Rogan too. It doesn't seem he's as well known as the other people on the list, like Robert Downy Jr. and even Sandra Bulluck.
seth rogen is a genius. if you had to use bad language to become rich and famous and be hilarious, you would do the same thing. and if you wouldn't, then in reality, your a jackass.
in all honesty i dont mind bad language, but in his movies its just overdone. Lazy writing. ask any stand-up comedian. its funny to cuss, but its also lazy and can get annoying.
not a big fan of Seth Rogan, his language is offensive-quote from The Hangover btw-in like all of his movies. I would think Robert Downing Jr. wouldve been higher but o well. nothing serious.
I think an actors merit should be based on their skill and the roles they choose not the amount of money they or the movie they're in earns. Our society has a bad habit of basing somethings importance solely on it's monetary value.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
