Natalie Portman Denies 'Batman' and 'Superman' Movie Rumors
Natalie Portman, 24, Monsters Inc. 2, Tony Scott
i have been looking forward to a monsters inc 2 for awhile along with an incredibles sequel as well and i look forward to seeing the pixar team make a prequel on how scully and mike became friends, good concept and i look forward to it. the only bummer i see is that it will correspond with the hobbit and the next 007 flick as for natalie portman in either batman or superman i dont think it is necessary especially since she denies it and she already is the heroine in the Thor. as for 24 movie, im not sure how that is going to turn out even though i like both tony scott and kiefer sutherland i just hope it is not on an entire time fram of two hours there would be too much to throw in there for a two hour movie, make it different
24... The longer they wait to produce a movie, the less interest will entail. Remember what happened with 'The X-files'? The first movie had decent numbers though not the blockbuster it could have been. Remember the second X-files movie? Most people don't. 24, as X-files, was a niche' series. It had it's following but was almost more of a cult series. We're talking almost two years or more before a movie even hits the big screen. Keifer is a solid actor, but even that didn't get people to the theaters to see 'Mirrors'; not even discussing the movie itself. So Howad and Keifer: if you're reading this, put a move on it!! The fans are waiting .. And who knows, you wait too long, you might be premiering the same wk as 'Jersey Shore' big screen
I'm done with 24, good as a series but won't run out to see it. Enough already with Superman. Bring on more Pixar, it could be about the rabbit and the turtle story and it would still rock!!
How about they make a prequel to Superman Returns and use Natalie Portman to play Lois Lane while she's pregnant with Superman's son. That's gotta be amazing, I wanna see how fast Superman bangs her, with all his powers you know..haha
I, too, am happy with the idea for a prequel for Monster Inc. However, I still want the sequel I know many felt they were "promised" with the ending of Monsters, Inc. I always envisioned a story where Boo is now older, maybe kindergarten age, and she is at that stage where she talks about her "imaginary friend." Her parents get worried about the strange signs of another presence in her room and bring out the old, barely used baby monitor... and hear a strange voice. Next thing you know, adults have discovered the Monster world. Chaos ensues and so Mike, Sully and Boo's parents join together to cover it up for the good of their family. Sounds like fun to me.
I love the idea for a Monsters Inc. 2 Prequel but I've always been very curious about a sequel for Monsters Inc. one it just sort of ended with Sully finally seeing Boo after a period of time and then it ends I just feel incomplete without that spot of pixar magic.
I don't think Portman will land a role in either Batman or Superman because I remember when Stan Lee was upset that Halle Berry took the role to play Catwoman. I'd say that Portman will stay with the "Thor" franchise.
Wo HoodCritic! It sounds like you are comparing Portman to Halle Berry? Halle was god-awful in Catwoman, so much so, she destroyed so very much of her reputation as a serious actress. People like me are wondering if Monster Ball was a fluke or leverage more than expected from the co-star Billy Bob Thornton. Natalie, on the other hand, is always brilliant and super professional. As we saw in Black Swan, she can get pretty intense as well. If they continue to delay making the two superhero films, I imagine she will be back on their short lists.
I'm not comparing Portman to Berry. I'm just saying I don't want her to make Berry's mistakes. Natalie Portman is an amazing actress but I want her to pick her roles carefully.
Fair enough! I now like your comment, however amended. Previously, Michelle Pfeiffer did an amazing job as Catwoman--which made Berry's attempt look impossibly bad. I dont want to see Portman in any fluffy stand-in roles either, such as the one Gwinneth Paltrow does in the Ironman flicks. Portman should continue to challenge herself.
Bring on 24!!! and i agree with domash1 - incredibles 2... still waiting...
I think it is a good direction, at least if we are talking about a monster's inc sequel. When i heard pixar were doing monster inc 2 I was really skeptical. I think monster inc is the least likely pixar movie you can do a follow-up to unless you do a prequel. You can't really build a new story taking place after the events of the original monster inc because of the ending. i think you can make another pixar classic if they do the prior events. By the way pixar, I am still waiting for the incredibles 2
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
