Dakota Fanning Takes A Bite Into Twilight
Now that Twilight is the biggest thing to hit theaters since that kinda-cute boy who sits next to you in math class accidentally flicked a booger at the screen when Bella and Edward started making out, producers are looking to populate the sequel, New Moon, with a few familiar faces. Thus, over the weekend it was confirmed that Dakota Fanning will be playing the role of Jane in the new film, due out on November 20. Jane, in case you’re wondering (and I totally know you are!), Jane is a member of the Volturi vampire coven who reside in Volterra, Italy, and they act as a sort of police force – enforcing the rule that vampires’ existence remain a secret from humans.
So what do you Twilight fans think? Is Fanning a right match for Jane? If not, who would you cast?
Wait, They’re Rebooting The Fantastic Four?
I know, the last sequel came out, like, a couple years ago – but already folks are starting to talk franchise reboot when it comes to The Fantastic Four. IESB.net reports that 20th Century Fox is looking to take this comic property in a sorta serious, Iron Man-esque direction, making it "less bubble-gum" and more … bubble yum? Does Jessica Alba still get to wear a skin-tight outfit? That’s all we really care about.
Sound off: Would you want to watch a more serious Fantastic Four movie, or was it comforting watching a comic book flick that was actually catered more toward, ya know, kids?
Watchmen Sequel? Maybe? Yes? No? Do You Care?
Well, a big superhero movie opened this past weekend to pretty good numbers ($55.7 million), and so you know which question gets asked next: Will there be a sequel? Good news for you loyal Watchmen fans, director Zack Snyder told the New York Times recently that he would have nothing to do with a sequel. But that’s one man, and of course the studio could turn around and try to churn out a sequel or a prequel, but unlike other comic properties (like Batman or Superman), the source material for additional installments doesn’t exist and one imagines fans would not like some studio executive to create "sequel magic" out of thin air. I’d start that petition against a Watchmen follow-up now, though, if you want to make sure this thing doesn’t happen.
Would you even want a Watchmen sequel or prequel?
no i would not. unless moore decides to write something new, dont expect anyone to go. How could they even do a sequel? Rorschach and Manhattan are gone. As for a prequel? I hope not.
Would love to see more Rorschach!! The film will be better if it's not constrained by a story designed for a 12-issue comic book, rather than a somewhat bloated 2hr. 45min film.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
