Rebecca Hall Stars In Chilling Trailer for 'The Awakening'

There seems to be a bit of a new trend in the traditional ghost movie. On the heels of Daniel Radcliffe’s The Woman in Black trailer release comes another chilling British ghost flick, this time starring Rebecca Hall (The Town, Everything Must Go), Dominic West and Imelda Staunton.

In The Awakening, Hall plays an author and ghost debunker in post-World War I London. She’s approached by a teacher of a boys boarding school, played by West, who believes he’s being tormented by a ghost. Hall then sets out to debunk the ghost story only to become tormented herself.

There may be nothing novel here, but the well-assembled cast combined with first-time feature film director Nick Murphy’s guidance, The Awakening looks sufficiently creepy and like a lot of fun. The film also earned some very good reviews when it premiered at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this week.

Check out the new international trailer below. The Awakening opens in the UK on November 11th and is still TBD when it will hit US theaters.
