'Precious' Exclusives

'Precious' Exclusives

In case you're looking for something different than the average blockbuster at this weekend's box office, be sure to check out the just released Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire. It was the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award winner at this year's Sundance Film Festival, and has been greatly championed by media giants Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey.

While its tale of an obese, illiterate, sexually abused 16-year-old may sound awfully grim, it's also a story about the hope Precious Jones (Gabourey Sidibe) discovers through her relationship with a teacher (Paula Patton) at an alternative school.

For more info. and to see an exclusive spot for the film, click here.

Plus, we've got a link to an exclusive from Giant Magazine. To celebrate actress Patton, who the magazine hails as the next Halle Berry, they've just posted a sexy behind-the-scenes video from their recent interview shoot. Watch here and enjoy.

Also, if you don't see it opening this week in your area, keep an eye out as the film expands 11/13 and 11/20.

Upset is how I was feeling on my Birthday after finding out the Precious movie was not showing in my area. I would have love to see the movie on my birthday Nov. 6, in the Chesapeke VA area. Why wasn't the movie showing in the VA area.

I would love to see this movie, but of course it is not being played in the Reno/Sparks Nevada area either, and it's not right, this movie should have come out at one time not broken up with all of these other dates, and just because of where I live it WILL NOT BE SEEN HERE...wow what a messed up world we live in, I can tell you that all of the other films that were released this weekend are not interesting to me at all....

This movie isn't playing in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC until this coming Thursday. I wanted to see this movie on Friday and now I have to wait. I'm not sure why this wasn't playing all over or at least in large cities that all the other movies started this weekend. Another great African American story and cast that will not contend with the weekend top movies or viewed as a failure because it had limited release cities.

Awesome movie, I don't understand why it wasn't shown nationwide. This isn't a black movie this is a life movie...so if the movie theaters think this movie just focus on ONE race the are sadly mistaken.

I'm a Black Woman, Wife, Mother and Grandmother born in the 50's. I live in Riverside,CA and less than 5 mins.away from a movie theater with 18 screens. I'd be lying if I said I can't believe "these people" still showing the world, "GOD'S WORLD" just how racist they truly are. They will continue to do anything to keep people of color unrecognized for their remarkable talents. Since this movie has gone unnoticed in theaters how fair do you think the Oscars will be. Oh... I apologize, I lost my mind for a moment...... I mentioned the word.......FAIR.

This is definitely a movie I want to see. I love when a good book is turned into a film. I recently had the pleasure of reading Consequences by Linda R. Herman and I can't wait to see if it hits the big screen because its a very real book that confronts the issue of HIV/AIDS. It was heartbreaking how the selfish acts of one man ruined so many lives but its also some people's reality. If you like true to life books, don't miss out on Consequences by Linda R. Herman. Sadly the movie was not all that it was hyped up to be. I suppose the characters were uniquely placed, however, the plethora of bad language made it difficult to watch. Although there are underlying awareness calls, not certain that they could be captured by the average movie-goer. MarciE
