Poll: Your Most Anticpated Blockbuster of 2010?

By: Erik Davis on December 30, 2009 at 3:12PM Comments (29)

Now that we’ve gone through the best of 2009 and the worst of 2009, it’s time to turn our attention to 2010. At first glance, 2010 doesn’t look as stacked with over-the-top piles of brainless action fests like 2009 was. Sure, we have a number of big films hitting theaters – most of which are based on an existing property – but it definitely doesn’t feel as big as 2008 or 2009, or even 2011 and 2012. 2010 feels like a set up year, with lots of potential franchise starters alongside some sequels, reboots, remakes and final installments.

But which film is already on your radar? Is there a certain movie you’re anticipating more than others? For me, I’m itching for both Iron Man 2 and Inception, though one can’t help but feel a little giddy in anticipation of Toy Story 3. We’ve thrown together a poll below with what I think are the top blockbusters of 2010. Feel free to vote for the one you’re anticipating the most, and if it’s not on there then make sure to leave your selection in the comments below.

Green Hornet will be THE bomb of 2010, don't smell Prince Of Persia either. IMO, Gyllenhaal = huge mistake, don't care what kind of shape he's in. No interest in The Last Airbender, the previews are more of a deterant than anything. Read bad things about Shrek but did enjoy the first 2, 3 was a bit disposable. High hopes for Toy Story but starting to tire of the 3-D fad. Very high hopes for Iron Man. Looking forward to Robin Hood and especially Tron. The final 2 Potter fiIms should be great. Hope Predators is mind blowing but miss Arnold. Nolan's Inception should be great but haven't seen the trailor. As far as Twilight, terrible books make fof terrible movies. A real mix of quality and crap on it's way. Hope it's better than 09

    M. Night Shamalan may not have held up in most of his movies but I've seen interviews and such with him and the creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender and he seriously looks as though he's deadset on making it worth the wait!! The preview already shows some differences in the story (like the Fire Nation attacking with Aang still in the temple) but bottom line I have to say I'm really anticipating the movie. Besides, I don't care how many points he gets wrong. It can't be any worse than Dragonball Evolution. The story didn't even make sense, and that's not even comparing it to the actual series. But that's another matter. Now as far as the others go? Iron Man, Alice in Wonderland, Deathly Hallows Pt. 1, and Prince of Persia all top my list.

Tron Legacy...watch the trailer and tell me that doesn't give you goosebumps remembering when we were kids watching the 1982 version of Tron. Interesting is Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner is back from the first one (Kevin Flynn and Alan Bradley's characters respectfully). What is amazing is now with technology the way it is this is the perfect movie to adapt and create a sequel for based on its original plot. Every other movie I will end up seeing in the top 10 most anticipated, but this is the one (like when Transformers was teaser trailer'd the first time) that I can't wait to see.

It's a tie between "Iron Man 2" and "Inception" for me, but I'm going to say "Inception" for one reason: it's the only film on the list that is not a sequel, remake, or based off another medium, which I admire. Nolan blew minds with "Memento," and I can't wait to see what "Inception" will do.

I am like everyone on this list. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 1 should be on the list and I think that is the most anticipated movie since the book came out. I hope this one is the best of the series. I also think that Iron Man 2, Tron Legacy(which isn't on the list), Toy Story 3, Inception, and Prince of Persia will be the highlights of the year and will not disappoint anyone this year, The Green Hornet, The Last Airbender, Shrek 4, and Predators will be the disappointments of the year, frankly because they just don't look that appealing and that some will leave the theaters when they watch it. The new Twilight will make a ton of money, yet I think it's too hyped up to deserve it because the movies aren't really that great.
