While Facebook boasts over 500 million members, apparently not all of them were interested in watching a film about how that site came to be. Even so (and of course we need to take into consideration that it's only been open for one weekend, and we're not including international audiences), The Social Network still managed to claw its way to the top of the box office with $23 million. Following behind in second place was Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole ($10.9 million), which just narrowly defeated last week's box office champ, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps ($10.1 million).

Box Office, The Social Network
Why is 'Legend of the Guardians' not a choice? It's a pretty good film, and is right up there with Toy Story 3 and Despicable Me for my favorite animanted film this year.
The social networks was actually pretty boring.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
