Poll: What Is Your Most Anticipated July Movie?

By: Derrick Deane on July 1, 2011 at 1:38PM Comments (46)

It’s the start of what could be a record-setting month at the movies. Not only do we get the carry-over of a third Transformers film (it opened June 29, hence the reason it's not included in the poll), a highly anticipated Cowboys & Aliens movie and the latest Marvel superhero flick Captain America, but then there’s that mega-event on July 15 when Harry Potter premieres on screens for the final time. Add to that, movies starring Tom Hanks, Kevin James, Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis, Steve Carrell as well as a new Winnie the Pooh movie and a Smurfs CGI 3D feature and we could be well on our way to breaking the $1.3 billion mark set last year.

Here’s your chance to let us know what your most anticipated movie for the month of July is…

I say the one I was waiting for was captain America and harry potter. These looked like they would be the best to come out for 2011. Now they are available to watch at anytime. I have used DISH online to view all my content. I can set this up on my laptop or iPad with my employee service. I’m always on the run so this is a way to enhance my TV enjoyment. There are thousands of movies to view and you can pull off the DVR or live TV. A great way to have portable TV and I have enjoyed this since it was first introduced. Missing movies or TV it’s self is just a thing of the past.

The Harry Potter novels made history by bringing game-playing, computer & t.v.-dazed children (as well as adults) back to the joys of reading as no other books have done. The films that followed were incredibly well-made and well-cast. They managed to overcome all obstacles and difficulties to give a more than reasonable representation of the books and, thereby, allow us to relive life with Harry. They deserve no denegration, but rather praise for excellence. Having spent more than a decade with Harry, loving his friends, hating his enemies, anticipating his next adventure, I almost hesitate to see the final movie because it brings it all to an end. He will be missed!

Being paid to watch trailers, there are many that are on my tops to see. HP is one, but also Captain America, Smurfs, and Cowboys and Aliens. Too many choices, not enough funding *sigh*

I guess it would be "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, Part 2 3D as my most antisipated summer movie. Others I am waiting for are: Cowboys vs. Aliens (is Sigorney Weaver in this alien movie?), and "Zookeeper". I am looking for "Puss 'n Boots" in November 2011 and Pixar's "Brave" in Summer 2012. I saw "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" last weekend in 3D. I loved it.

Cowboys & Aliens will be the best movie of the summer; hands down, and I have been and am looking forward to it more than anything else this year. However, Potter shall rock. I would also like to mention that I know this isn't a July movie, but I really want to see Real Steel.

"Captain America." Looks to be the best film of the summer. Although "Larry Crowne" looks like a cute little movie, and "Cowboys & Aliens" should be fun, too.

Captain America should be the most anticipated. Too many Harry Potter movies, boring. I hate when the HP fans take over.

BTW less hate more love. 2nd, Cap America is much anticipated because its NOT Batman, Spiderman, or THANK the 6lb 10oz baby Jesus!, Superman. Lastly, HP movies has lived up to the hype of the books, you can't say that about alot of movie adaptations. So, you can understand why some would be sad to see the series go. :(

As many answers will come of this question, as are those who give answer. But to politically put it, being of sound mind, and age, well age anyway. I may not know what I want, but I know what I like. And, my movie for MOST anticipated and not bad for tickets, come on. . . good for the nerves and anticipation. Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt. 2. No. . . that's why we're different! Now ask me which on I truly liked—ALL of them and even the ones I haven't seen. Give me movies, and yes in Roger Corman fashion, even a 'B' now and then, they might—surprise. Anyway, they're different. Movie on and shut-up and watch the movie and No Texting.

Harry Potter all the way!!! Even though I know what's going to happen, it's fascinating to see the story I've been reading since '97 put up on the big screen. It feels like I've grown up along with Harry, and I'd like to see how the Yates interprets the book and uses special effects to bring it to life.
