Filmmakers behind one of the most highly anticipated movies of the 2013 summer movie season just released a cryptic, distorted viral video featuring an attack on San Francisco. The destruction comes at the monstrous feet of a kaiju (Japanese for "strange beast") that cuts a three-mile-wide path of chaos through the Golden Gate city.
Directed by Guillermo del Toro, this is the first footage we've seen since the lavish Comic-Con presentation for Pacific Rim.
The film centers on an alien attack that threatens the world's population. Giant robots piloted by humans are deployed to fight off these monstrous beasts. Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi star in the sci-fi action adventure.
