When Harry Potter decided to split up his final film into two parts, that decision paved the way for other studios to pull similar stunts with their big, long-lasting franchises. Naturally, Summit Entertainment is now trying to decide whether or not to split up the final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn, into two films – and a lot of their decision, I feel, will be based on whether they can talk Chris Weitz into directing both films back-to-back.
just one long film is the best thing 2-4 hrs is worth it for twilight
I can't get enough of this series. I was frustrated I only got two hours with New Moon. Give us one movie and make it three hours long. And I hope that they do like Lord of the Rings and offer extended versions when they come out in DVD I would py extra for it. Too bad you didn't end Eclipse with Bella and Edward married and leaving for the honeymoon. It could of given us two longer movies and helped with the length of Breaking Dawn.
I SAY THEY SHOULD DEFINATELY MAKE IT INTO TWO FILMS. IF YOU READ THE BOOK BREAKING DAWN THEN YOU KNOW THERE ARE TWO POSSIBLE WAYS TO BREAK IT INTO TWO STORY LINES. THE WEDDING AND HER PREGNANT, BEING FIRST AND THE SECOND HER BECOMING THE VAMP -- MOM. SOMETHING LIKE THAT, ALLOWING FOR ALOT OF THE BOOK IN THE MOVIES.. WHY RUSH INTO ONE MOVIE?
I would honestly like it to be one movie just so that I don't have to wait but more story could fit into two, also the genius that is Stephenie Meyers thinks it should be two.
I WANT TO SEE IT AS TWO FILMS!!! THERE IS JUST NO WAY THAT BREAKING DAWN CAN BE DONE WELL IN ONE MOVIE. I REALLY REALLY HOPE CHRIS WEITZ COMES BACK!!! THE MAN IS AMAZING. AND EVEN IF THEY DID SPLIT IT INTO TWO FILMS...I BET SUMMIT WOULD RELEASE THEM LIKE THEY ARE NEW MOON AND ECLIPSE...ONLY 7 MONTHS APART RATHER THAN A YEAR. EVEN IF IT WAS A YEAR THOUGH, I'D WAIT. BREAKING DAWN IS GOING TO BE AMAZING!!! AND THE BOOKS WERE WRITTEN FOR YOUNG ADULTS. SO IF THEY'VE READ THE BOOKS...THERE'S NO REASON THEY CAN'T WATCH THE MOVIE. ITS NOT THAT BAD. PERSONALLY, I THINK THE PART 1 OF BREAKING DAWN SHOULD END WHEN BELLA'S HEART STOPS, AND JACOB GIVES HER UP FOR DEAD. THAT WOULD BE AN AWESOME CLIFF HANGER ENDING!!!
ONE! if it was 2 it would loose its appeal. plus who wants to wait that long to see the other one? i would be dissapointed if it was 2 movies
At first, I was against the idea of splitting the book into two films. Then, I sat down and outlined the screenplay. In order to fit in all of the GOOD scenes (and you know which ones I mean), they MUST split the film. There's actually a great place to divide the book, too, so it can definitely be done. I think that it will ultimately depend on whether the writing is good as to whether the films will be successful as two separate entities.
It was a crap book to begin with. Take out all the drivel, make it one film, and give it a more spectacular ending.
One film! Breaking Dawn contains two stories-Bella's long, boring pregnancy. And the Volturi. It is only when we see the results of Bella's pregnancy that the book really starts to move! I don't see how there is enough to make two films. As for Harry Potter, those of us who read the book know that the book is long due to Harry's search that answers all the questions that have accumulated in the 6 books that came before...It would have to be two books to be done well. Here the decision to make two films was based on what best serves recounting the story to the public. As for Breaking Dawn being well done as two films? I would have to see it to believe it.
one film would be way better im a huge fan of the twilight saga and would not want to wait for the 2nd part of beaking dawn to be released .
Def 2 films that means you get to see more of what happens in the books and alot more action but the only bad thing is the time it takes to get both of them out but i wouldn't mind sitting through a 4 hour movie as long as it was good but i love the books so i hope its good!!LOL
I can't wait.
Well if its 2 films you have to wait longe but if there is more action its worth it!
Another suggestion, is to release both around the same time. This way people don't have to wait a year or two for the second half! Make the first part, make the second, release them when the second is over.
It could also be one whole long movie, or shot as one, and then split into two for the theaters.
Most definitely split. Its hard as it is to put a book like this or those of Harry Potter into one movie. Its way to hard and a lot that makes the story is missed.
As for the same audience, I for one know that young preteens are going, duh have you not heard all the fan girl-ing and whole big "OMG" about it from the teens, preteens and even younger ones? And the last book (even though most of them have already read the book) I can see right now that the sex scenes and other questionable things will be cut out or changed. I feel this would totally destroy the last book because they are things you can't remove without changing the story.
I would rather them not make a movie for Breaking Dawn then to make it and to have left things out.
Why don't they do the same thing for Breaking Drawn that they did for the movie Titanic one movie 2-4 hours long. The Titanic made a lot of money and no one minds the langth of the movie when it's done right and you enjoy the movie. I wish there had been more added in both of the first two movies. As far as the content of the movie getting pretty hairy, if the kids have read the book they already have a good mental picture of what is going on. Don't cheat the movie.... Be ture to the book... It doesn't have to be nasty....
True but you have to wonder if the fad will last that long or will it die out before they even get to the 4th film and then that huge investment they made will go to waste. Although that might be poetic justice
C.R.E.A.M. is what the studios are all about. Two films spell $$$
It would be a better investment to make two.
I would kind of like to see it in one film, just because I wouldn't want to wait another year for the rest of it! But then again they could get so much more in if it were two films.... so I say two films!
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
