Chances are at least a few of you caught The Day the Earth Stood Still so that you could get a big-screen glimpse of Hugh Jackman in next summer's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The first trailer looks a lot more tough and gritty than the last X-Men movie, and Jackman going it alone seems to fend for himself just fine. In the clip below, we get a look at Taylor Kitsch as card-throwing Gambit, sword-spinning Ryan Reynold's Deadpool, and an impressive showdown between Wolverine and Liev Schriber's Sabretooth. There's also a quick shot of Kevin Durand in full costume as The Blob. All in all, it's an action-packed, hard-edged preview that looks faithful to the comics, and a good kickstart to summer '09 (opens May 1st). Take a look, and let us know what you think.

I love him, he is beautiful.
This movie trailer looks to be a true winner and the epitome of X-Men comics. The previous X-Men movies (2nd installment being the exception) were awful. The director either had no money for production or he just stunk at creativity. Bottomline, the previous X-Men movies sucked. Hollywood has too many Special FX techs for that degenerate to ruin the all time comic to movie. For lack of comic excitement; Spider Man and Fantastic 4 were not suppose to be better nor in the same category with the X-Men. This better be a X-Men redemption for all of us X-Men fans.
Already looks waaay better than X3!
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
