Not long ago we brought word that Clash of the Titans was considering a 3D conversion in order to spice up the film's potential at the box office. Warner Bros. had ordered up some converted footage and they were going to see whether it was worth it or not. Well, cut to today and now The Hollywood Reporter says that not only did Warners love the footage for Clash of the Titans, but Harry Potter has also found his way into the mix.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Clash of the Titans
As long as it has a good story the movie will be great in 3D. The 3D adds more of an Awwe effect and because the scope of Avatar and Harry Potter I believe it will enhance that general feeling of the movie and help the audience be sucked in by the general wonder of the fantasy of Harry Potter.
Math: Good Story+3D=Very Great Movie or Good Movie+2D=Still Very Great Movie but if you throw in Bad story+2D=Bad Movie but if you throw Bad Story+3D=bad Movie. So the laws of movie will never change. 3D will eventually be as common as 2D is now and then the coolness of it will be just a footnote.
Simple Explanation: A Bad movie will always be a bad movie even with 3D. A good movie will always be a good movie regardless of 3D or 2D.
I agree with the person commenting about the 1930's movies. How many high budget movies have you seen that have been shown in 3D and not in 2D? I don't know the actual numbers, but I bet half the theaters in America can't even show 3D movies, and the theaters that do have them have one or two screens. It's awfully ignorant, however, to say, "3D movies make my eyes hurt! They should stop making them!" Listening to little kids cry gives me a headache, should we all stop having babies? Open your mind people! Just because you don't like, or appreciate something, doesn't mean that it shouldn't be done. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and preferences, but this is (an) America(n website), don't try to force it down my throat.
I'm a HP fan and I think it's dumb. It just jacks up the prices from already high movie ticket prices!
I for one don't like or even think 3D movies are good for every movie. Avatar was a classic,granted....but to put Harry Potter in 3D is so futile. He was great in 2D. so I vote with all the others. If it is a sequl to a film and it was produced in 2D or regular film, then leave it be and go on with the regular film. 3D movies and those 'GLASSES" are annoying. I wear glasses and don't mind the 3D ones so much. but the Avatar movie was also COMPUTER GENENERATED, It had most of it shot and backed by COMPUTER ANIMATION. Leave Harry Potter and future films alone and just make movies. All movies aren't going to be great just because there in 3D. And the whole Idea is to intice the people to go and see them..................RIGHT??
If only they could make 3D movies possible without the glasses. I have to take my regular glasses off and by the end of the movie I've got a headache from eye strain. Plus the glasses are too big for me, so I can't even slightly tip my head down at all or they'll fall off. Other than that, I love 3D movies.
Harry Potter will be awesome in 3D!! Just thinking back to some of the events in the book... I can't wait to see it anyway, but it will be so much more cool in 3D!!
I agree with some of the bloggers here in that 3D is BEGINNING to be used too much, such as in the case of the next Harry Potter movie---I think that the enthusiasm for the Harry Potter films comes from mainly the acting, but also the special effects involved in the "magic" of the movies. As I've heard some critics on T.V. comment, as long as things aren't flying atmy head but bringing me even more into the story (as in AVATAR, 3D brought me into the story), and adds to the writing and the acting, I think 3D will be here for a long time to come. However, as in the next Harry Potter film, as with other forms of special effects, you will always have movie makers misusing 3D in an attempt to make more money and creating forgettable films.
No more 3D movies please. It's annoying especially when you have to pay 3 or 4 bucks more for glasses. The 3D glasses hurts my eyes. Stop releasing 3D movies it's making impossible to see 2D movies. I heard Avatar was great in 3D but I saw it in the normal version and I still love the film. The industry is going too far with 3D movies. Just because you have a hit like Avatar it doesn't mean you will have another one. I can go on forever so I am going to stop now.
Some people said that they are getting headaches and I think that should be considered. I will not watch Harry potter in 3D because I think they are going overboard.I do not care if some stuff was filmed in 3d. As long as I do not have to put glasses on with every movie I am ok with that. You watch, it will be phased out sooner or later because it does a number on your eyes.
Yes. Definitely...I want The Deathly Hollows in 3D. 3D really does this type of film a rreal justice.
I am not sure where you all were but the 5th installment of Harry Potter( Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix) had 3D scenes, while not all the fil was 3D some of the best scenes were done in 3D like the battle between Voldemort and Dumbledore towards the end.
This si so stupid okay no offense but jst cuz ur 3D doesn't mean it will do what Avatar did. Avatar did well cuz one it is James Cameron, two it was something new not a sequel or remake and third it was FILMED in 3D and was on a different planet. Harry Potter in 3D would be so dumb cuz Harry Potter is so magical already that converting it I think would ruin it and also 3D is more expense that people would jst see the 2D version since it would jst be like all the other Harry Potter movies. I mean seriously 3D has always been popular I mean IMy Bloody Valentine was a hit last year but it has to be filmed in 3D and don't count on it breaking any records close to Avatat.
People are freaking out "oh it hurts my eyes, oh i get headaches" so on and so on. well let me say first that both movies will be so amazing in 3D. Ive been in love with 3D since the classic spy kids. There automatically going to publish a non-3D movie so I don't see why these babies above just suck it up and stop complaining, no ones forcing you to go to 3D so stop complaining!!!!!!!
I just wish they made the UNDERWORLD trilogy in 3D that would be truly amazing!!!!
As long as they come out with a non-3D version, I am fine, but if they only put out a 3-D version I won't see it... I hate 3-D... It hurts my eyes, I can't stand the glasses and I don't like things jumping out at me from the screen... Give me good old regular movies... And I feel the same about the cost of tickets, they already charge an outrageous amount to see a regular movie, i don't want to pay anymore for a headache!!!!
why ruin an already amazing series!!!
don't like it at ALL...makes the ticket prices go up already cost enough to go to the movies.Who wants to wear those glasses. How can they expect a little kid to sit there without ripping them to pieces? bad idea
No more 3D! It hurts my eyes and is annoying.
I am with you. They will find out one day that it causes eye cancer or some other form of deformation.
OMG! This is FANTASTIC news!!!!! Avatar was great in 2D, but it was AMAZING in 3D! Harry Potter in 3D would be truly spectacular :) Wow....I can't wait!!!!!!!!
