Motion-Capture 'Tarzan 3D' Starring Kellan Lutz Gets Teaser Trailer

By: Derrick Deane on October 5, 2012 at 1:14PM Comments (10)

Earlier this year, it was announced that Kellan Lutz would star in a new motion-capture animated version of Tarzan and now, a teaser trailer has arrived giving us a first look at the movie.

While the motion-capture looks good, the overall animation and background look severely out of date. Whether that's by design remains to be seen and considering this entire teaser focuses on Tarzan climbing a tree, it's safe to say there's still much to be seen.

The film doesn't have a U.S. release date yet, but it is slated to hit Germany on July 25 and then dip down to Argentina on October 3, 2013.

What are your initial thoughts on the teaser trailer?

Never tease with lower quality than you intend to release... it's like hitting a bad note in singing performance, no matter how good you are after the sour note, everyone's left thinking of the sour note, well unless you're amazing...gonna be hard to go from this to amazing.

It just looks like a CGI version of the Disney movie.

Amazing piece of work for CGI. I just hope the story can be told differently from the other Tarzan movies.

Really? It looks like a video game more than a movie. Im not going to see it anyways because its probably going to be released in few theaters. But we all have opinions.

I don't know how good the movie will be, but I'm really impressed with the CGI. I didn't know until almost halfway through that this was CGI.

This just looks like a trailer for a cheap, bad video game. Who ever thought this was a great idea should slap there head.
