More 'Spider-Man 4' Rumors: Malkovich and Hathaway

It's a new day, which means it's time for some new Spider-Man 4 casting rumors. It seems every time a new rumor pops up, it's a different outlet running it. Now Movieline (who've previously been silent on all things Spidey) claim that The Powers That Be are eying both John Malkovich and Anne Hathaway for roles in the fourth installment.

 
We already knew about Hathaway (her name popped up in Rumorville last month), but Malkovich – who was at one point negotiating to star as Green Goblin in the first Spider-Man movie – is new to the casting circle, and is said to be looking at playing a villain named The Vulture, a deadly killer who uses his sharp wings and flying ability to slice and dice his way through our hero. Meanwhile, the studio wants Hathaway to star as Felicia Hardy (aka Black Cat), but the twist is that unlike the comics her alter ego would not be Black Cat. Nope, instead they've created an entirely new character called The Vultress, who we imagine would act as a sidekick for The Vulture.
 
Honestly, I'm not crazy about this at all. While I'm a big fan of Malkovich and think he'd make a fantastic villain, there's a big part of me that just can't get past Malkovich donning wings and fighting Spider-Man alongside a leather-clad Hathaway. I mean, really? We're supposed to be afraid of someone named The Vultress?
 
What do you think? Good choices? Bad ones?

    I love Malkovich, but he's no Vulture. He could be a better Cletus Cassidy, Chameleon or Mysterio. Picking him for the Vulture role cuz he's bald is just poor (Vulture's intelligence to me is much lower than what Malkovich is capable of). Aside from Malkovich being in the film, I think the next villain should be the Lizard or the Scorpion. I would want Carnage, but they really messed up Venom in the last film, I don't want them touching my other favourite villain. And lastly, Anne Hathaway as the Black Cat? All I have for that is... /facepalm.

    ummmm how the hell are they gonna get anne hathaway to play Felicia Harding and change her alter ego??? they're really screwing up spider man, after the last one i just give up, they need to leave it alone. Gwen should've been put in the re-boot and the black cat in spiderman 3 they're doing everything backwards its ridiculous i'm not watching any more spiderman movies
