Yesterday we asked you which rumored role you'd rather see Kristen Stewart take on once she's done moonlighting with vampires and werewolves in The Twilight Saga. It was between the role of Snow White in a new live-action re-telling of the popular fairytale Snow White and the Huntsman, and the role of Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's new Superman movie.
I would very much like to see Kristin in other roles. I do not think she is a terrible actress. Not the best in my mind, but certainly not the most awful I have ever seen on screen. I cannot comment on if she is playing "herself" as Bella as a few have said because I do not know her real self, of course. Seeing her in a few interviews is not knowing her at all. I would welcome her as a Snow White just to see how she would handle the role. Snow White does not have to be the prettiest in the land or the most talented. I remember seeing Camryn Manheim as a version of Snow White in the 10th Kingdom. Lastly, I just simply think people love to bash Kristin simply based on her association with Twilight. (continued)
I am so happy that she is playing snow white, she is incredible actress. the movie is going to be great
boo, there is no way that she is even pretty enough or talented enough... she always looks like that she is on drugs XC
I like the idea of this movie.... Stewart may or may not be right for the role but I'd like to see how she does. And what's with all the hating? Seriously.
Well there are several more movies i suddenly have no desire to see. She like watching paint dry. How the hell do you make a movie with a great story, premise, and lead character boring?? Ask Kristen Stewart - she OBVIOUSLY knows. I wish she would retired. Her pseudo depth reads false and her boring portrayal of ..anyone she's ever played is repellant. In short..she sucks bad.
Besides having the same name as you (I'm Cassi, short for Cassandra), I have another reason to like you. Seriously, stop all this hating, people! I don't know if she's the best for this role, but we really need to wait and see. Don't hate the girl in the role until YOU'VE ACTUALLY SEEN THE GIRL IN THE ROLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The above post is in reply to "cassi104"'s post below. I keep hitting reply to the correct post, it just doesn't always do it...grrr...
The idea for the movie is terrible- possibly worse than 'Red Riding Hood.' I'd rather have an already-terrible actress in the role rather than someone who might actually have a reputation to ruin.
This is a joke right? Did the people that thought this up even see her act or watch any of her interviews?
Bella Heathcoate !!! Now there is a perfect pick for snow white ... imdb her, I doubt you will disagree. Not only does Kristen's acting abilities haunt her roles but her brooding look always seems apparent. Snow white (as I remember) was sweet and chipper, the kind of person who could befriend wild forest animals..... not one that a perfectly behaved house cat would hiss at. Beyond having dark hair and light eyes she is NOT a good fit for this role. If you have the time check out that chick Bella and tell me what you think. Maybe I am asking to much too expect studios who can't come up with new movies and have to reuse classics to ahere to the most basic of the main charaters qualities?
I think all of you have too much time on your hands. A lot of you can't even spell. And what about the 7 dwarves?
So they are going for the bad ugly actor angle on this Snow White eh?
The studio wanted Kristen Stewart from the start and after auditioning Bella Heathcoate, Felicity Jones, Emily Browning and others resumed their offers to Stewart. The others must not have impressed all that much.
This comment is for tresdj below. (Something's up with my screen, I apologize.)
What I find disturbing here is how so many of you are filled with hate, anger and lack of well-being in your own life that you are mirroring such negative emotions. You are contributing to our planets of a whole, unhealthy state. Consciously wake up and focus on your own life than being negative towards others. We are all here to expand and grow. We are all different but connected. Heal yourself and focus on the good. Then you will create more good in your life. And help the rest of the humanity.
If you want to talk about excellence, you have to set your bar HIGH, not lower your standards. And for all her “gifts”, Stewart falls short on all counts. In many ways, her mediocrity is like Salieri's before the great Mozart: “Nolo Contendere”.
If you want t talk about “caring for something, or someone”, I’ll tell you what I care about… I care about HIGH STANDARDS; about the Classics, be they in stage, movie, or music. Snow White is a CLASSIC, in literature and movie history. Disney has a reputation to uphold on this. They better make darn sure WHO they trust this treasure to…
Are there great actresses in our time? Yes, there are: Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman, Halle Berry, Emily Blunt, Sandra Bullock, to name a few.
For this particular role, I add the following name: Zooey Deschanel. She has three great attributes found in every outstanding actress; extraordinary stage presence, character depth, and a wide dramatic range. With a vivacious, yet innocent and engaging personality, she would be perfect for the Snow White role.
I don't have time to read all the K-hate on this page but I'll AGREE with you - love Zooey!
On Kristen Stewart
Hate IS a big word... I don't hate Kristen, or anyone for that matter. She even has a charm of her own.
However, having actually watched a REAL, long line of fine and extraordinary actresses at work, I have the standing to say that she is not one of them. Kristen Stewart is a one dimensional character, hesitant and insecure, playing herself to perfection... in ALL the roles she has laid her hands on. Her cuteness actually helps her along...
Her fans are, for the most part in the 15 - 25 age range. Because this generation suffers from short term memory loss, they have conveniently forgotten that there were once REALLY GREAT actresses, from Katherine Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Hellen Miren, to name a few.
While I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Zooey .. I think she is a tad too old for the role. Her features, black hair, blue eyes, soft white face all indicative of a "snow white" that my mind conjures. But maybe back when she is Hitchhikers and not today. I spent some time looking for an actress that would "wow" me just by seeing her as snow white and I found Bella Heathscote, I know, I know not another bella.... but for me, she personifies "snow white"
Thank you, SANMIGUEL23, for a honest, candid and KIND opinion. I don't know enough to like her acting or not, but to HATE someone when you don't even know them...that is just plain wrong. So once again, thank you for showing how an ADULT expresses their opinion.
She's only getting those roles now cause of her popularity as Bella from Twilight. It's not cause she can act (most anyone could do a better Bella than her). It does indeed help that her parents have been in the business for years and have contacts.
OMG, this is sooooo stupid. She sucks as an actress. Her best work was with Jodie Foster and that is because she was a kid playing a kid, just being a kid, plus you have Jodie Foster and Forrest Whittaker to carry the movie. Not much she could do to mess that up. She is the main reason why I don't like the Twilight movies. She is not Bella and there is now way in this universe that she is Snow White. Take on evil and kick butt, how, by stammering them to death. Please. She couldn't even do sleeping beauting because she can't even sleep normal. Anyone watch her in Twilight and the way she sleeps with her hand all deformed looking. Get the actress from Pretty Little Liars who plays Aria to play Snow White or paper doll.
They couldn't find anyone with less personality?
Seriously I cannot believe all the hate by these posters. I feel like many of these people posting these comments never read the Twilight books, for if they actually read them they would see that kristen Stewart captured perfectly the essence of who Bella is-and she played the part perfectly. There are also those who will comment on Rob's portrayal of Edward-people are just ridiculous...they must be unhappy with their own lives and have to be haters of the success of others!
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
