The Hobbit, Man of Steel
First and foremost I like the 2D screening format above all then I'll say it's IMAX format: I like how gigantic the Screen is and makes you feel as though your in the movie scenes/pulls envelopes you in!!! It's sorta frightening yet exciting at the same time. 3D format is okay but I still wind up seeing what I like in 2D format anyway!! It's all good..'but 2D is the one for me then it's IMAX!!!!
Most of the time that goes for me too
Yeah, I agree...'the 3D can sometimes wear on the eye that's why I prefer regular screen 2D movie & IMAX formats. From time to time I'll check out an 3D movie but I still wind up seeing it in 2D. Smile. Have a great Thanksgiving, fandad1960.
You too and anybody seeing cirque du solei December I am
I might, their an "amazing" very talented Acrobatic Professionals: I never seen such an unusal Circus group-team as theirs...'CIRQUE Du Solei is totally Epic origionality!! Breathtaking and spectacular.
I never seen a show from them in person
Yes, the exotic unusual Acrobatic CIRQUE Du Solei will walk right up to you and ask you if you want to participate in the Show!! My family & I show them live in the Bay Area/Oaklan, CA in the late '90's, I believe. Their masters at what they do and put on one of the greatest live/Cirque performances in the World!!! Epic total masterpiece all the way.
IMAX movies can be good. But the 3D movies need to go away. For starters are people who are willing to pay the ticket prices for 3D willing to ruin their eyes on the IMAX. I have to wait for regular 2D movies to come to the IMAX. I was happy Skyfall was not 3D. 3D movies are killing my love of the movies these days.
Not always but depends on what format i want to see it in
Imax for sure. Unless the 3-D is used as a storytelling method and makes it more personal. Like Hugo. Which was amazing 3D and anybody who didn't see it missed out on the best movie going experience of the last 5 years.
Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole had an even better use of 3D.
By the way that was a great one
I agree Hugo was a semi great film in 3D
I enjoy being entertained by the latest movie that's in IMAX and/or better yet, IMAX-3D. However, the movie must meet certain criteria. I usually do a small modicum of research to determine the amount of action that's in the movie. The more explosions the better :). That's what I pay good money for, to enjoy a technology of sight and sound that I cannot reproduce at home. Now if only the concessions wasn't so expensive :(.
If they lower the prices of tickets, I will see more movies in IMAX.....3D doesn't really do anything for me though, I think it needs to go away!
Don't care what goes away but lowering prices yes
My dad prefers IMAX he wants every good movie he says with me to be in the format
I'm seeing it in XD 3D because my theater is playing it in high frame rate
By the way, I meant The Hobbit
I don't care as long as it is something that will be promising in either format or 2D. For the past 7 years I have followed IMAX. On this week, 7 years ago, I went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in IMAX on opening day. From that day on, i admired the beautiful picture quality, the largest story screen I've ever seen anywhere and the astonishing surround sound system. Later, I've seen Night at the Museum, Spider man 3, Speed Racer, Star Trek, Christmas Carol, Tron Legacy, Transformers Dark of the moon, Real Steel, Happy Feet Two and this year, The Amazing Spider man and the dark knight rises. Since Avatar, I began following the 3D renissance but chose to be careful what i chose to see in that format.
I've seen many imax movies (my first was Star Wars: Attack of The Clones back in 2002) and this year I saw The Avengers (imax 3D), Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The Dark Knight Rises in imax. Last year I saw Cars 2, Mission Imposable 4, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in imax 3D. I really like imax, but it is pricey and there are not a lot of them near me (which is way i go to XD more often.)
Real steel was the best movie I've seen in IMAX
I wish it was in 3D though
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
