'Hunger Games' Sequel 'Catching Fire' Gets Release Date, New Pics Revealed

Though filming for Hunger Games is still underway, Lionsgate has gone ahead and locked down a November 22, 2013 release date for the sequel, Catching Fire. The release date finds the second book in the Suzanne Collins trilogy hitting theaters over a year and half after the first movie.

As of now, no other details have been given, including whether director Gary Ross will return to helm the second film. 
 
In addition to the release date, two new images from Hunger Games have been revealed, one of Katniss and one of Peeta. Take a look below!

    I haven't read the books, but am plannign on picking up the first one. That being said, I'm aware of character names and the fact that Peeta is blond. Also, the basic idea is that Katniss is among others who are fighting to the death for the amusement of the multitudes. So...what of the above pictures or description consists of a spoiler?

    The fact that it gives away that both Peeta and Katniss are alive in the sequel. You'll see once you read it. It's not something that you couldn't predict happening but still.

    You actually just supplied the spoiler. The pics above are from the Hunger Games. They don't mention what characters will be in second movie, only that they are planning on filming.

    he's blond in the book, and they lightened the actor's hair considerable for the movie. if you google the entertainment weekly cover from a week ago you'll see it's blond. it's probably wet and dirty in the photo.
