Let me clarify by rephrasing myself...If Peter Jackson and the studio wanted to try something different, which in this case is filming The Hobbit at 48 FPS, then we, the general public of moviegoers obviously had little to no say about it.

The 3D / Imax movie landing pages don't have the "cast+crew" tab
I don't understand why many are making a big deal over The Hobbit being presented at 48 FPS. What I mean is if the production wanted to try something different, then we, the general public of moviegoers obviously had little to no say about it.

That's true, people can chose if they want to see it in 24fps or 48fps.

I agree "what's the big fuss about 48 fps...films". To me if the storyline is grounded and solid which THE HOBBIT is (so is LOTR) & the visuals are crisp and clear and understanable, that's what I go for. I'M thrilled it's available in many big screens Film formats for all to enjoy!! Peace.
I'm still going to see it in 48 fps
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
"Squirrel!"
