Bryce Dallas Howard, The Help
2011 Summer Movies
Hands down! Emma Stone! She instantly brings dimension to any character and make you love and relate to their story.
Emma Stone is such a great actress. Cannot wait to see this movie!
Emma Stone because she is such a versatile actress! I think she can take on any role and make it amazing.
How hard to choose just 1! This was an AMAZING MOVIE! It took the entire Ensemble of AWESOME Actors to Make the Movie what it is!! Kudos to Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard, Allison Janey, Octavia Spencer, Sissy Spacek, & Jessica Chastain! But if I MUST choose just 1 I have to choose EMMA STONE! She left me wanting more!!
She lit up the screen & evolved in the movie like a butterfly from a caterpillar! This is the BEST movie I have seen in YEARS!! :)
My favorite actress from "The Help" is Viola Davis. Her portrayal of the character Aibileen, who struggles with courage and fear in the face of doing what is right, was magnificently genius. It was reminiscent of documentaries of the lives of Rosa Parks and Oscar Romero, as well as the film "In the Time of the Butterflies". Her acting is a brilliant reminder that doing the right thing for your fellow man isn't always going to be chivalrous like the superheroes of today's comic books. Instead, the fight is something frightening and dangerous, and you may feel both small and weak. Viola Davis is simply amazing and I truly appreciated her acting in this film.
I love them all, but my fave would have to be Sissy Spacek! Classic.
Emma Stone because she's funny and a great actress.
Emma Stone is my favorite because she's awesome in every role I've ever seen.
Pick just one?? They were all so great. Viola Davis was strong, vulnerable. Emma Stone is becoming one of my favorite actresses. Bryce Dallas Howard was a b!tch! Never heard of Jessica Chastain - I would say she did awesome and hung in there with the all the greats.
This movie is hilarious, sad, and moving all at the same time
Emma Stone is (supposedly) my doppelganger, so I have to go with her!
My favorite actress from "The Help" is Emma Stone. Compared to her earlier hit "Easy A", her presence in a lead role of this movie is understatedly a well-done portrayal of her character. She is a confidant and highly talented actress, emerging from the rest of her peers as a future star to be reckoned with.
You is kind. You is smart and you is important. Favorite line.
Allison Janney is awesome. She has a unique and wonderful voice, and is such an awesome actress. She is so real, normal, and I just love her.
Definitely Octavia Spencer as "Minny Jackson"! The pie scene was a hoot! Definitely worth the price of admission!!
Emma Stone as she played a strong, courageous, ambitous woman who knew what she wanted in life and, despite the peer pressure from her lifelong friends and the ignorance of her mother, she had a heart and she had empathy for "the help". She made her own decisions without influence. And, despite the pressure to be married, she did not feel that she needed a husband to define her or to "fit in". Great role and inspiring for young women to be independent!
I loved the book, but haven't seen the film yet. But I love Sissy Spacek, so it will be fun to watch her again :)
First and foremost Great book/Great Movie, I think the movie totally lived up to the book... There was one part that was missing from the movie that I recall in the book but trust me when I say I did not miss the naked man, so as much as it was a part in the book that was not in the movie it did not matter.LOL As for my favorite actress I would have to say Celia played by Jessica Chastain a women with such a big heart, I think her part in the movie is played out so much in life today... With so many little girls having such a hard time fitting in and being shunned for the way they look and or there intelligence level, etc. To be rejected socially for ANY REASON is just absolutely wrong. Thanks for the inspiring movie/book!!!
My favorite actress was Octavia Spencer because she was just too funny and real. I love the part when she flushed the toilet to make believe she had used it. She had a lot of courage doing that knowing she will be fired and I loved how she got revenge by making that pie with her #2 and making "Hilly" eat it. I also loved how she helped "Celia" throughout, teaching her how to cook and caring for her. The Help is definitely one of my favorite movies of all time now. All the actresses were great, even the baby Viola took care of was amazing!
Minny is the kind of character I'd like to meet in person. She speaks her mind and doesn't back down. She knows who she is and has an unshakable confidence in herself. Octavia Spencer
brought her character to life and I wouldn't be surprised if she receives a nomination for her
performance in The Help.
My favorite actress in the film is definitly Emma Stone. In The Help, she plays such a strong and confidant young woman. Her character, Skeeter accomplishes so much, not only for herself, by escaping the deep prejudices of the time period, but for Aibileen and Minny. She sacrificed her own life to uncover the hardships of these women, putting her reputation on the line. Skeeter is so inspirational and courageous. Also, Emma Stone is not afraid of what people say about her, she's beautiful, hilarious, and an all around great role model for young women everywhere.
delma and david
Viola Davis did an awesome job... need more of her.
I would choose Emma Stone! I think she played such a strong character
& I love what Skeeter accomplished in the story!! She was inspirational
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
