Giveaway: 'Killing Them Softly' Mini-Posters and Book

By: Stacie Hougland on October 31, 2012 at 9:36AM Comments (63)

After getting positive reviews at Cannes earlier this year and a shifting release date this fall, the crime dramedy Killing Them Softly finally will reach theaters Nov. 30. It stars Brad Pitt in what's said to be a terrific performance as a professional hit man hired to track down a trio of criminals who rock the local crime syndicate in New Orleans after ripping off a poker game. The movie is directed by Andrew Dominik, who also teamed with Pitt on The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and who based this film on the 1974 novel Cogan's Trade.

Is your interest piqued? If you'd like to get a jump start and read the book before the film comes out, we have your chance to win a copy of Cogan's Trade as well as 10 mini-posters for the film, 3 of which are Mondo-created (too cool, right? Check out 9 of the 10 below). All you need to do is tell us your favorite heist movie in the comments below. Winner will be chosen at random next Wed., Nov. 7, and notified via email. She/he will have 3 days to respond before an alternate is chosen. U.S. residents 18 and over, only.

Now go enter!

Snatch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Boxy, emotion, symbolism(ex: squeaky toy that looks like a pig that the dog eats while it's owner says: "Don't Snatch!"), great fighting scenes, amazing Irish Gypsy accents portrayed, and of course, the robberies and stone that tie the characters together! Oh and the fact that Brad Pitt is the one portraying the Irish Gypsy accent doesn't hurt either!

Jules Dassin's RIFIFI - that workman-like half hour heist scene with no dialogue is really great. Still one of my favorites.
