Friday Fright: Red-Band Clips for 'Evil Dead' and 'Hansel and Gretel' Will Horrify

This year is getting off to a bloody good start … with an emphasis on the word "bloody."

Two restricted red-band trailers for upcoming horror movies recently dropped, and it’s like one was trying to outdo the other when it comes to gratuitous horror gore. The hands-down winner in the gross-out contest has to be the full clip for Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead remake, which somehow figures out how to ramp up the insanity from director Sam Raimi’s original.

We’ve posted that clip below this latest tease for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters … a spot that shows us more than one vicious way to eliminate a witch from the face of the earth.

Be warned: Both clips are NSFW, and feature excessive horror gore (especially Evil Dead) and more than a few nasty words. Heads up.

Here’s the Hansel and Gretel clip, teasing the movie’s Jan. 25 release:

And here’s the first extended look at Evil Dead, which will be in theaters on April 12. Seriously, don’t watch this while eating.

Between these two, Guillermo Del Toro’s Mama, the 3D Texas Chainsaw, the expected remake of Carrie, a release of the festival hit You’re Next and continued installments in series like the Paranormal Activity franchise, 2013 should be scary good for horror fans.
