Can anybody recommend a soundtrack for the movies? Mel Brooks has some great songs and I can never find a good collection. I don't need the broadway soundtracks.
uhhh, you forgot high anxiety; a wonderful homage to hitchcock, with some of the funniest scenes with harvey korman, chloris leachman and madeline kahn... definitely should be up there if spaceballs is.
Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles are two of my favorites, but you guys left of Robin Hood Men in tights, Yessssss. The producers has become one of my kids favorites. Just mindless humor, point blank.
Mel Brooks is my favorite writer-director-comedian! I've seen all of the 5 films you recommend. But, I think that "Young Frankenstein" is the best of his films. My husband & I usually watch it at least once a year, if not more.
On our first date, my ex and I watched Blazing Saddles. His sense of humor was his best (and almost only) asset.
Anyone who has not seen the Producers, go fix that NOW.
Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles are two of the funniest movies ever made, in no small part due to Madelyn Kahn's comedic genius. I agree with the author; let's have History of the World Part II!
I still laugh out loud at Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, and Young Frankenstein. Blazing Saddles is my dad's favorite comedy.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
