This weekend’s release of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World finds Michael Cera in the role of Scott Pilgrim, a hipster-ish slacker from Toronto who falls in love with the mysterious Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and then must defeat her seven evil ex's in order to truly win her heart (or so he thinks). Mixing multiple pop culture and video game references, the hyper-stylized, coming-of-age film set inside the world of various video games all mashed together is definitely one you don’t want to miss – if only to watch lanky quip hero Michael Cera transform into a badass action hero right before your very own eyes.

how is Harry Potter a geek? but the rest totally awesome!!!!
What about Data from the Goonies!
He totally should apply... Harry Potter technically doesn't count as the classic definition of a geek... he plays quidditch for goodness sakes... He's more jock than geek... if anyone Hermione's the geek... so Data from the Goonies is a much better geek than Harry Potter is...
Nobody but nobody is better than Jeffrey Combs as Dr. Herbert West in Re-Animator or most of his other flicks.
Wikus ( Sharlto Copley ) from District 9. At the beginning he's such dork!
Pffft... how about Thomas A. Anderson aka Neo?
I agree with jakehbrown . . . there's no way that Clark Kent should have been left off of a list of "greatest movie geeks." Why not make it a top ten list instead of just top 5? :)
But Clark Kent was a disguise; it wasn't really who Superman was. You can't put him on there since he wasn't really a geek. That's why I left him off.
Clark Kent wasn't a "disguise" . . . it was his identity. It was who Kal-El became as a result of how he was raised by the Kents, his "adopted" Earth parents. So, in fact, Clark Kent WAS "really who Superman was." Therefore, he needs to be on this list. ;)
So many faves from the ones you already have listed...
How can you mention Peter Parker and leave off Clark Kent?
My personal favorite is Data from the Goonies. Go pinchers of pal!
Fantastic list! Especially George McFly and Egon-characters from 2 of my favorite movies.
So do Peter Parker and Indiana Jones!
Whoooo! Go Harry Potter! He does kick ***!
Kick-*** from Kick-Ass
Uhh Napolean Dynamite, he has bow staff skills.
I'd personally want someone with computer hacking skills or nun-chuck skills, 'cause girls only want guys who have great skills. lol
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
