Yeah, we know -- the two words "film" and "festival" together instantly brings to mind languid dramas filled with endless pause-laden conversations about life and important documentaries about people who build fences or pick fruit. And terrible animation.
But there's more than meets the eye, so to speak, and each of the major film festivals has its own personality and great reasons for being. As the first fest featuring what will likely be this year's Oscar contenders opened this week with the Toronto International Film Festival (more on that here), we give you this fun (no, really!) chart that highlights the biggest festivals around the country and factoids about them -- tongue planted firmly in cheek, of course.
