For those keeping track of Paranormal Activity , the little scary movie that could and currently is, the official site for the film -- ParanormalMovie.com -- has been deluged with over 230,000 'demands' from coast-to-coast, prompting Paramount to expand its creepy thriller to 20 additional cities across the country beginning this Friday, October 2nd.
Among the cities with the highest demand that are being included: Los Angeles, CA (Arclight Hollywood); New York, NY (AMC Empire); Chicago, IL (AMC River East); Dallas, TX (AMC Northpark); Houston, TX (AMC Studio); San Diego, CA (AMC Mission Valley); Phoenix, AZ (Harkins Tempe Marketplace); San Francisco, CA (AMC Metreon); Philadelphia, PA (National Amusement Bridge); Atlanta, GA (Atlantic Station); Miami, FL (AMC Adventure); San Antonio, TX (AMC Huebner Oaks); Las Vegas, NV (Rave Town Square); Minneapolis, MN (AMC Rosedale); Denver, CO (Regal Continental); Detroit, MI (AMC Forum); DC/Baltimore (AMC Georgetown); Sacramento, CA (Cinemark Complex 14); San Jose, CA (AMC Mercado); and Tampa, FL (AMC Veterans).
The film -- currently rated 92% fresh on RottenTomatoes, and greatly admired by our own Lizerne Guiting at the showing last week -- will continue to play exclusively at midnight. We just found out that the Arclight Hollywood screening on Thursday at midnight is already sold out, so if you're ready to get your scare on, be sure to nab your tickets soon...before they disappear...
I like all kinds of films, in all genres, but, this one is a total turkey and the one and only time for as long as I can remember that I wanted my money back. I didn't ask for it when exiting the theater, but, this film is a total rip off and only the youngest and most naive would think this was a good film, want an expanded version or think it was worth buying on video, either. Boring and predictable from begining to end. Last 3 minutes of the film are all that are worth watching and are NOT worth the price of admission. Wait for the video and RENT IT...DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
