Ka-chow!! The kind folks over at Disney/Pixar have given us the exclusive character debut for Holley Shiftwell from Cars 2. Holley is voiced by Emily Mortimer in the film and is a British spy who teams up with Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and Mater (Larry the Cable Guy).
Here's the official descritpion of Holley from Disney/Pixar:
"Holley Shiftwell is a beautiful young British desk agent, turned spy-in-training who’s stationed in Tokyo. Well-educated and sharp, she knows every trick in the book—or rather, she relies on every trick in the spy manual. She’s armed with the latest state-of-the-art spy equipment imaginable, from hidden cameras and concealed weapons to a telescoping utility arm and a holographic pop-up display. Holley is a highly motivated agent, but is fresh out of the academy, so her experience is based on lessons learned in school rather than real-life situations. When seasoned international spy Finn McMissile requires Holley’s technical expertise for his latest top-secret field operation, she finds herself pursuing a rendezvous with the most unlikely candidate—Mater, an innocent caught up in the intrigue, who is mesmerized by the beauty of his newest friend."

Holly sounds very intriqueing/mysterious and look forward to the new CARS 2 Movie for the 1st is a Classic masterpiece. Can't wait to see Mater, Sally-she's awesome and Lightning McQueen & other fav Cars from CARS next adventure in CARS 2!!
Maybe, in addition to having the name play off car parts, they are also paying homage to the racy names given the "girls" in the Bond movies. Just saying...
I miss Porsche :(
Hey, don't worry. Sally is still in Cars 2. This is just a character to fit the sequel, not to replace her or anything
doggy 612, i was just joking about the name..."Holley" is clearly named after the popular carburator...
OK, then. Next time someone makes an animated film, they should check the name of a character for anything questionable. Ridiculous.
Are you seriously comparing the cars symbol with a Cliterus!! Also yes Disney having "hidden messages" in them is true but it is ussually a shout out to the special fx crew and not anything bad. But if you look on the cover of little mermaid you see a phallic shaped building in the background it's pretty hilarious if you ask me and to all you house mom's out there who are worried about this stuff wait till' they get to know how to use the computer better than you, then you won't be able to censor them any longer!
I agree with Trailerfan. Just now at first site myself and my friend sitting next to me thought that "Holley Shiftwell" does look a bit like.... well you know. And let us not forget that Disney has had its fair accusations of these things in the past (subliminal messaging I mean). Now whether that is true or not, I dont know. I most certainly hope not. My Family and i love Disneyland. We go every year...and will go again Next Christmas. And I have 2 under the age of 12. However I will be posting this picture of the new character on my fb page to see if some of my friends feel the same. I hope we are all just too paranoid. Having said that. Look at the top left hand corner of the pic. What does that resemble to you? Thanx........Jesus
very cool-looking design and color - Emily Mortimer will provide some class to the proceedings - but when i first saw the name "Holy Shiftwell!", it sure looked like an expression that wasn't safe for the kiddies...
Its Holley like the brand you idiot not holy .......... don't you double check what you read before you post about it genius ?
I agree. I don't like people who check a kids movie for anything and everything that may be even slightly profane. It just sucks the spirit of the movie out.
I like her. She seems to be a good addition to the Cars Universe
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
