HBO’s Entourage may be ending its run on the small screen – the eighth, and final, season started earlier this week – but that’s not likely to be end of the line for Vincent, Ari, Eric, and the rest of the gang. Plans are afoot to bring the series, which chronicles the lives of a group of friends as they try to navigate life in Hollywood after one of them (Adrien Grenier) makes it big, to the silver screen. Yes, an Entourage movie is in the works.
Creator Doug Ellin revealed the plans in as direct a fashion as possible at the show’s TV Critics press tour. “We’re going to do a movie,” he said. “We’re going to do it. It’s a question of when and how quick. We’ll sit down and come up with an idea.”
Meanwhile, producer Mark Wahlberg (who’s own life was reportedly the inspiration for the show), went a step further – telling EW’s Inside TV that he’d finance the project out of his own pocket if he had to. “I certainly hope it has a chance to become a feature film, everybody always says the episodes are too short. [Viewers] want to go on a journey. The Hangover to me is like Entourage.”
We’re not sure we’d go quite so far as comparing Entourage to The Hangover, but there’s clearly large fanbase for the show and it seems likely that they’d follow the series should it make the jump to the big screen. The cast seems ready to make the jump as well – with Jeremy Piven mentioning that while the final season is “a gratifying way to finish,” he can see them easily making the transition to a feature film.
Hopefully, if an Entourage movie does get up and running, Ellin and crew will remember what made the series so popular and stick with that for a feature length story. Trying to be “bigger” or straying from what worked on television can be a recipe for disaster with film adaptations – just ask the Sex and the City fans.
While all of this Entourage film discussion is in the early stages, it’s never too soon to start discussing what kind of story the film might have. What would you want to see in an Entourage movie? Share your story ideas in the comment section.

Well, it can't be much worse than the Sex and the City movies.

dont you agree. it maybe a little harsh but it is true. all they do now is pretend to be bigshots and bang women. maybe they should bang each other. they let that little ***** ari tell them what to do and he takes there money so he can spend it on the la strip and have gay love at the glory holes. this show is straight garbage now.

Why bother?
exactly. why does anyone care about this show anymore.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
