With Argo seeming to sweep all the awards lately, and with eight other potential winners competing against Ben Affleck's drama in hot pursuit of Oscar gold, what better time for Warner Bros. to release a 20-movie set of their Best Picture winners? The release doesn't just dovetail nicely with awards season; it's also part of the studio's 90th anniversary celebration, which will include more 20-movie sets (one with musicals is next), a 50-movie set on Blu-ray and a monster 100-movie set on DVD throughout 2013. LOTR Return of The KING!
The Departed. A difficult choice to pick just one. Such a great movie!
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
Doesn't get any better than Ben-Hur
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is my favorite movie on this list, but there are soooo many good ones listed. I like most of them, and even see a couple that I haven't seen before.
The departed for sure...great movie...
Would very much like to see these movies.
The Lord of the Rings REturn of the King. Thanks!
around the world in 80 days
Chariots of Fire
The iconic Casablanca...
1946-1959 ("The Golden Years")
The Best Years Of Our Lives is one of the great movies of all time.. Post WWII vets coming home to a world they can't imagine and sadly don't fit back into. Superb performances by all.
It's a tie between Amadeus and Driving Miss Daisy.
I love watching Amadeus. It's my favorite!
I like all of them, but can watch Gigi over and over again. Lovely music!
So many great movies, but I would have to say my favorite is GIGI. It made such an impression on me when I was a young girl.
Chariots of Fire... Keep running on the beach boys, with that music!
"Driving Miss Daisy". I took my grandparents to see it. They hadn't been to the movies in over 3 decades.
My favorite is "Around the World in 80 Days" because it reminds me of the magical quality of movies.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the KingTM
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
