The Harry Potter kids are all grown up, and it’ll be interesting to see how their careers pan out once their 8-film stint officially comes to an end this summer. While we’ve heard rumblings that Emma Watson may join Taylor Lautner in a big action film called Incarceron, Daniel Radcliffe looks to be searching for quieter material.
Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe
Geez, writing and Directing already? Whoa kid, let's not hand the world over to Harry Potter. He's played one character! He needs more experience. Take it slow. If he doen't, his career won't last.
I think if he loses the glasses and gets contacts, he can play any role.
Harry Potter is Harry Potter. While Daniel Radcliffe moves onto other roles Harry Potter will forever have a place in our fan hearts.
And, while other people mourn the loss of a great movie series, the rest of us will be getting tickets to Daniel Radcliffes next movie. He is a great actor and I believe he can be great outside of HP. I will forever support my fellow birthday sharer, and even if the movie sucks, I'll still give it good ratings so that he will continue to follow his career path.
If you disagree then don't bother coming to his next movie.
I think he will go behind the camera and make a new name for himself as a director a la Ron Howard. He has the resources, the experience in cutting edge technical filmaking, and respect of the industry. I believe their are more layers to Radcliffe than people currently give him credit for because "Potter" is so successful. He will continue to surprise us with his adaptability. Anyone see "Equus?"
I would like to see a yet to be written series of books by Rowling made into movies about the four founders of Hogwarts. With his interest in directing, and familiarity with the wizarding world, Daniell would be a shoo-in for a directorial role.
I would not look for smashing commercial success in new movies if I was Daniel. I would try to find work playing smaller roles, and work with successful directors and actors, to build his acting chops. It will build his credibility, while time separates his adult roles from his time as Harry. A parallel to the successful path of Natalie Portman from Star Wars to her current career.
To me, Daniel Radcliffe will always be the face of Harry Potter. Look at Alan Rickman who played Severus Snape in Harry Potter. He's portrayed a lot of other roles before his role as Snape. I think the argument comes from these Harry Potter roles were the first roles these three young actors have played and have basically spent a great deal of their childhood in. We, their audience, have watched them grow on screen as their characters have grown, and as a result, we cannot easily imagine them in other roles. However, I anticipate seeing them grow into adulthood in other roles, roles that give them an excellent chance to exhibit and refine their acting talents. I'm sure they will excel with good scripts and challenging new roles.
wow. you seem to have trouble with reading comprehension. Actually, I do think Kevin Spacey saw Lex Luthor as a dramatic role. The way it was written,it absolutely was. Just because it's a comic book movie does not mean it' wasn't a dramatic role. And please note my use of "mostly" previously. I know that Meryl Streep has been in comedies, but those and Mama Mia are unlikely going to be what she's known for. My point was that just because an actor is most famous for being in a certain genre of movies doesn't mean they've been type cast as you suggested with Bruce Lee being nothing other than a Kung Fu Action character. And also,Jennifer Aniston has been in a dramatic film, Derailed.
I would actually like to see Daniel in similar roles to the Potter franchise. I enjoyed his acting in that context and to see him portraying a Muggle in the Muggle world holds no great appeal to Me. Hey, there is nothing wrong with being in the Fantasy genre, especially if you are good at it!.
First Potter & Twilight have nothing in common. Potter has superb actors & production values. Twilight has good actors in supporting roles, medicore production values & terrible leading actors. Both KS /RP play the same restrained character type no matter what they r in. All their films have flopped except Twilight. Radcliffe has built a solid resume in film, TV & Broadway; both in drama & comedy. He is very ambitious, intelligent & selects roles carefully. Grint has a solid carreer in comedy, a la Peg. He seems quite content to be a screwball comedian in England. Watson started out arty but matured theatrically over the film arc. If you view the films throughout you can see how all three have honed their skills. There's no comparasion.
Radcliffe and Watson r talented and developing actors. theyll move on and b successful no matter wat I feel like. so wat if not every film makes HP bank; if they continue to work thats wat counts. i look forward to seeing what they do!
he will always be the orginal harry potter but u never know just how talented till u have some slower movies as well. I believe that anything that he plays in will be really good. I would also love to see more movies with the crew together again like a reunion of some sort. I think it would be great.
I saw Rupert in Driving Lessons about a coming of age teen who's mom a religious fanatic & in the end she was having an affair. He played his part very well, quite a talent. He has great comedic timing but is really good in a drama role. As for Emmma, I saw Ballet Shoes & she was really good in it. I think she is wise going to college. Wish the other two were as studious. It would do them no harm & would round them out. Lastly, Daniel Radcliffe was really good in December Boys & the Kipling movie playing Jack. I saw Equus and forgot it was Harry after 3 minutes into the play. The audience was stunned to see what a great job he did with the part. In the end I think Daniel & Rupert might the Ron Howard way in the
I feel, that in time all of the actors and actresses in the HP franchise will lead very succesful lives. Yes there will be hardships with new movies they will star in, but they will always be wonderful actors/actresses. To comment on the one that said Watson was no good in the beginning. None of them were. They were yonug stil training. Now lookat them wondeful people and extremely talented. I can not wait to see what they have in store for us next...
They are all good actors but emma is my favorite she has the expierence
There was a terrific series on Masterpiece Theatre about 25 years ago called "DAnger UXB". It was about a squad of guys in England whose job it was to find unexploded bombs from WWII and dispose of them.
It was a great ensemble cast. I'd love to see a remake--maybe even adapted to something more contemporary. Radcliffe would be great for that.
I don't think any of these kids should try to break away from their Potter roles. They are rich and set for life because of them. Now they can pick and choose their future roles. It would be nice to see them stay with the cleaner roles, but that is not Hollywood.
I think he would fit well in some sort prequel to Sherlock Holmes...the life and times as the young Sherlock growing up...I know it has been done but think he would be a better character in something of that nature.
It would be kewl too see him in a horror flick, he has the whole being possessed thing down.
If her did a horror film his carreer would be ruined
Apparently, Fandango and their reporters are not up to speed... Dan's first post-Potter film is not "The Amateur Photographer" but rather "The Woman in Black" which opens in theaters October 28 in the UK. I'm really hoping it makes it across the pond as I'd love to see this film.
I'd like to see Daniel Radcliffe do some political thriller movie, similiar to the way Sean Connery did "The Hunt for Red October", or something else that pertains to today's events.
Also, seeing Daniel Radcliffe do a new "Star Trek-XII" movie wouldn't be bad. But let's go back to the main timeline of the Roddenberry "Star Trek" franchise. Not that hokey J.J. Abrams - version of "Star Trek". That wasn't good.
I think he will come back for a big movie, he has done so much already with December Boys and My Boy Jack, I can understand him wanting to do smaller things for the next little while. I'm sure if a big movie or something meant to be a small movie and gets great hype for a sequel he'll be there. Looking forward to seeing Emma in more films as well as Rupert.
He's signed on for 'All Quiet on the Western Front' as well.
I'm excited to see him in more projects. I look forward to his new stuff.
That'll be great!
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
