With just over two weeks to go before The Dark Knight Rises lands in theaters, Warner Bros. has released a new synopsis. There's not much there that wasn't already known. Here's the updated synopsis:
It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.
But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.
The first trailer for Jack Reacher (formerly titled One Shot) starring Tom Cruise has landed online. The dialogue is Russian, but you can get a sense that this film has the tone of last year's Drive. The story finds a homicide investigator (Cruise) digging deeper into a case involving a trained military sniper who has shot five random victims and is based on a book in Lee Child's crime series. You can read a humorous translation of the monologue here.

Convinced she's only doing what's right, Sandra commences the investigation, following step-by-step instructions from the officer at the other end of the line, no matter how invasive they become.
