The 2010 summer moviegoing season is in full swing, with Shrek Forever After leading the box office surge last weekend (taking in a respectable, but not earth-shattering $71 million), and now we're approaching one of the biggest weekends of summer: Memorial Day weekend. The three-day holiday weekend has played host to several blockbusters over the years, and 2010 is no different with a couple big heavy hitters entering an already packed marketplace. Let's take a look at this week's competition …

I wouldn't go to see SATC 2 if you gifted me with tickets, tossed in a bucket of popcorn, and gave me the best seats in the theatre. I loathe the SATC concept of 4 pretentious, self-indulgent whiners who traipse about NYC as if it's the center of the universe. I don't give one ripe fig about what they wear or whom they've bedded in the last 2 hours. I tried watching the 40-minute weekly TV series ONCE; I would have preferred flogging. Why would I toss good money out for a 2-hour Blahnik-fest?
No, I'm not a man. I'm the mother of two teens with a strong marriage and a lovely home. I teach Sunday School, work in several PTAs, and have a job. In other words, I have my OWN life; I don' t need to live vicariously through 4 vapid twits!
I saw SATC 2 and loved it can't wait for another one. Went to one theatre tickets were sold out went to another and bought the last couple. I'm happy for the ladies
I have no interest in either of these movies, I hope they both tank so as to relieve any pressure the studios might feel to provide any sequels.

I'm going with Prince of Persia. The only reason I'm saying this is because sex/city came out on Thursday and did well scoring 15 million. With that said I think Persia can upset it. Even though prince of Persia looks like crap I think it will win by 2 million. 52 million to 50 million. But with it being that close I think its a toss up. Also Sex and the city is suppose to suck a bigger sausage than the sluts portrayed in these films. God I hate these movies.
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
