In the ever-evolving world of Avatar, it appears that Avatar 4 is back on the slate. Last week, producer Jon Landau said there were no plans to shoot the film. James Cameron had previously said that he was considering the possibility of a fourth Avatar film and said that it would most likely be a prequel.
Cameron spoke with MTV saying, "I haven't really put pen to paper on it, but basically it goes back to the early expeditions of Pandora, and kind of what went wrong with the humans and Na'vi and what that was like to be an explorer and living in that world. Because when we drop in, even in the first film in Avatar 1 as it will be known in the future, we're dropping into a process that's 35 years in to a whole colonization. That will complete an arc and if that lead into more, we'll start, not imitating Star Wars, but it's a logical thing to do because we'll have completed the thematic arc by the end of three. The only thing left to do is go back to see what it was like on those first expeditions and creat some new characters that then become legendary character in later films. It's a plan."
Avatar 4 is several years from beginning. For now, only Avatar 2 and 3 are scheduled to shoot back-to-back and once those are done, according to Landau, Cameron will finally get started on Battle Angel. He told Swedish website MovieZine that the film is still four to five years from beginning.
Battle Angel is based on the graphic novels written by Yukito Kishiro and tells the tale of a female cyborg who is resuced from a scrapheap by Dr. Ido, a scientist in the 26th century. She is a lethal, dangerous being who cannot remember who she is or where she came from. Dr. Ido believes she is the one being who can break the cycle of death and destruction left behind from Tiphares, a giant aerial city suspended via an orbital ring.

Avatar, James Cameron
Battle Angel Alita! Sweet!
I thought that Avatar was just alright. I really do not see a point to make more. Like they always say sequels never surpass the original. I think James Cameron is wasting his money on these films. I am glad True Lies 2 never happened. I thought the Terminator movies were his better films.
We will see because the underwater stuff seems promising
I think James Cameron will do his best as always with the sequels.
You better be right since like I said the underwater stuff is promising
So no Jake Sulley in Avatar 4? Oh man!
I bet they are trying to leave us in suspense and by the way I'm looking forward to Wreck it Ralph and I saw the Avengers last Thursday night and it was awesome
I know! Avengers is the best and Wreck it Ralph looks to be the best movie of the year!
Will be Disney's best since Cinderella that's my prediction. And will do better than Tangled
I wouldn't compare it to Cinderella, but it could do better than Tangled if they attract enough girl gamers.
But Wreck it Ralph will probably end up being the best movie of the year and ever.
I'm crossing my fingers too it might be better than Enchanted Bolt The Muppets Princess and the Frog Tangled who knows and by the way Cinderella was Disney's last great animated feature in the 20th Century in my eyes
Not to me, I'd say The Lion King was. I agree, I hope Wreck it Ralph will be better than ALL Disney films.
I have the same thoughts most Disney films back in the 90's were weak and scary Hercules and Mulan were major exceptions and i told you earlier i got to see some of their live action comedies from back then Man of the House, Heavyweights, Angels in the Outfield and Blank Check
What about Tarzan?
Don't remember enjoying it on account of i was scared but like the pop version of You'll be in my heart Phil Collins got an Oscar for that
It's just that Tangled was not one of their best entries it would have been better if Gothel was less chessy as the antagonist, Rapunzel would have kept her hair blonde (spoiler alert to those who have not seen it) and had a more exciting climax and big musical finale
Yeah, but Tangled ended up being better than expecting.
Yeah I agree because I was expecting some kind of practical joke I felt that way at first towards Enchanted and the Muppets too
BTW, with Sarah Silverman's character, girls might be attracted
Yeah, but even though her character seems funny, shes quite annoying (and offensive to hobos).
We will see
By the way the Avengers in my opinion was not great i'll call it semi great
I thought it it was the best movie ever!
The best movie of the summer was Battleship and another one i enjoyed so far this year was Joyful Noise don't be mad i said all that
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
